Bookings
should be made well in advance directly with us or through your
local travel agent.
TOUR PRICES
Are detailed under the appropriate Tours, and are subject to
alteration without prior notice. Prices are also subject to
adjustment in case of changes in Value Added Tax, fuel price or
airfare increases. No adjustments to the tour price will be made
once FULL prepayment has been received.
Children's Discount
Long Distance Tours:
12 years and under sharing a room with 2 adults - less 50%
12 years and under sharing a room with 1 adult - less 25%
NOTE: At camps, lodges and hotels
generally refuse to accept children under 12 years.
Deposits:
50% of the tour price is due
on booking the tour. Final payment must reach us 30 days before
departure. Bookings made within 15 days of departure must be
accompanied by full payment.
CANCELLATIONS
Must be made in writing and will be effective on the date of
receipt in our offices. The following
cancellation charges will apply:
* 30 to 15 days before departure - 25%
* 10 days or less before departure - the full fare.
EXCEPT - Some accommodation and private game lodges where more
stringent cancellation fees apply. Details available on
application.
Passengers should ensure that they have appropriate insurance
cover.
TOUR PRICE INCLUDES
* Accommodation
As specified in the itinerary - or similar - based on 2 people
sharing a twin-bedded room. The use of hotels mentioned or
implied in the tours is subject to accommodation being
available. During the height of the local holiday seasons it may
not always be possible to accommodate passengers at nominated
hotels. In this event South African Coach Tours reserves the
right to make use of alternative hotels. This will in no way
affect the price of the tour.
* Single Accommodation
Is at an additional cost, as indicated by the single supplement
printed in the Rates and Dates List obtainable from any South African Coach Tours.
Single rooms are available strictly on a first-come-first-served
basis.
* Meals
As specified in the tour itinerary. On scheduled tours breakfast
and dinners are generally included, except on leisure days in
the main centers, when breakfast only is included. Please check
the tour itinerary for details.
* Transportation
In air-conditioned tour coaches, smaller vehicles or minibuses
of equal standard appropriate to the requirements of the tour.
Seats are allocated strictly in order of receipt of booking. All
seats enjoy excellent visibility.
* The Services
Of an experienced courier and driver (on coaches only). Our team
of couriers and drivers have all passed exacting tests in
driving and guiding skills, and are fluent in many European and
some Eastern languages.
* Foreign Language Guided Tours
On selected departure dates, certain tours will be conducted in
both English and German. The dates of departure of these dual
language and English only tours are published in the separate
Rates and Dates List obtainable from any South African Coach Tours.
* Portage
Covering the handling of one standard sized suitcase and
one-piece hand luggage.
TOUR PRICE EXCLUDES
* Tips and Gratuities
For the courier and/or driver, for hotel or restaurant employees
and waiters, or anyone performing a personal or individual
service not specified in the itinerary. These are not included
in the tour cost, but are left to the discretion of individual
passengers.
* Personal Items
Such as alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, cigarettes,
telephone calls, laundry, room service and other extras at
hotels, lodges and resorts.
* Rail and Air Fares
Are EXCLUDED unless specifically stated as included in a
particular itinerary or package.
* Visas, Health and Immigration Requirements
Agents and passengers are asked to ensure that all these
requirements are attended to as South African Coach Tours accepts
no responsibility if such documentation is not in order.
Passengers on tours passing through Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana
and Zimbabwe should consult their travel agents for details of
entry and re-entry visas and health requirements.
CLOSE CORPORATION POLICY
* Check-in-time
Passengers should check-in at the departure point approximately
30 minutes before the stated departure time, unless otherwise
advised. We take pride in our record of punctuality and would
appreciate your assistance in maintaining it. South African Coach Tours
cannot accept responsibility for passengers who fail to arrive
in time.
* Baggage
One standard set of luggage, comprising one suitcase and one
overnight bag per person is allowed 20 kg maximum. Luggage
should be clearly marked. While every care is taken, the close
corporation accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to
baggage or to personal property wherever the same shall occur
and whether the same shall arise from or be occasioned by the
negligence of the Close corporation, its servants or agents or
other such persons directly or indirectly in the employment or
service of the Close corporation or otherwise under any
circumstances whatsoever. Passengers should ensure that they
have adequate and appropriate insurance cover.
* Seating
While we would love to have all our passengers occupy front row
seats throughout their tours, this is obviously not possible.
So, to have as many passengers as possible enjoy the front row
seats, our couriers and drivers have been instructed to
implement a policy of rotation of seats. As a courtesy to your
fellow passengers, please co-operate with our courier in the
implementation of this policy.
* Smoking
In accordance with international practices, and as a courtesy to
your non-smoking fellow passengers, we request your co-operation
in implementing our policy of prohibiting smoking on our
vehicles. At no time and under no circumstances is smoking
permitted on our vehicles? Your courier/driver will ensure that
sufficient comfort stops are made to enable you to smoke
outside.
HEALTH AND VISAS
Visitors to the Kruger National Park and nearby private game
reserves, as well as to Botswana and Zimbabwe are advised to
begin their anti-malarial precautions 2 weeks before their
intended visit. Certain passport holders require entry and
re-entry visas for South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana
and/or Zimbabwe. Please consult your local travel agent or
consulate for details. The onus is on the passengers to ensure
that their documentation is in order. Please check the
requirements with your travel agent or tour operator prior to
your departure.
ALTERATIONS AND AMENDMENTS
South African Coach Tours reserves the right to change any route
and/or arrangements should conditions necessitate this and to
offer substitutes of equal value. South African Coach Tours also
reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person as
a member of any tour at any time, without giving any reasons
therefore. South African Coach Tours further reserves the right
to use smaller coaches or mini buses on its scheduled tours
should the number of passengers participating reduce
sufficiently to warrant this.

Responsibility Clauses
South African Coach Tours, the Close corporation, carries
comprehensive passenger liability insurance, details of, which
will be made available upon request. The Close corporation and
co-operating agents act only in the capacity of agents for the
passengers in all matters and as such hold themselves free of
responsibility for any delays, loss or damages from any cause
whatsoever. All tours are arranged subject to the conditions
imposed by the airline, hotel, restaurant and other companies,
firms or individuals concerned and upon the express condition
that the Close corporation and their servants and agents shall
not be responsible for and shall be exempt from all liability in
respect of any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or
inconvenience to any person, or his or her luggage or other
personal property, wherever the same shall occur and whether the
same shall arise from or be occasioned by the negligence of the
Close corporation, their servants or agents or other persons
directly or indirectly in the employment or service of the Close
corporation or otherwise under any circumstances whatsoever. All
tours, charters and hires, itineraries, travel arrangements,
hotel accommodation are subject to alteration or cancellation at
any time without prior notice for any cause which in the
absolute discretion of the Close corporation renders it
desirable reasonable or necessary to effect such alteration or
cancellation and in particular but without prejudice to the
generality of the foregoing in the event of the revision of
arrangements or the imposition of conditions by restaurant,
hotel or transport contractors or managers. No liability of any
kind shall fall upon the Close corporation in respect of any
such alteration or cancellation.
AIRLINE RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE, CANCELLATION AND BOOKING
CONDITIONS
* Cancellations and Refunds
In the event of cancellation or failure to use confirmed space,
as ticketed, for any reason (including medical). 35% of the
applicable airfare will be forfeited. A change of reservation
constitutes a cancellation. Extension of ticket validity for any
reason (including medical) is not permitted, except when a
passenger is hospitalized due to illness or in the case of death
of a member of the passenger's immediate family.

Responsibility and Booking Conditions
The airlines concerned are not to be held responsible for any
act, omission or event during the time the passengers are not on
board their plane or conveyances. The passengers' tickets in use
by the airline or by other carriers concerned when issued, shall
constitute the sole contract between the airline and/or other
carriers and the purchaser of these tickets and/or passengers.
The Airlines and/or their agents act only on behalf of clients
and on the express conditions that they do not accept any
responsibility for any default, negligence or otherwise, on
their part of the services of hotels with which bookings are
made, or of any person or organization providing the clients
with accommodation or any other service which appears in this
brochure. Nor are they liable to the client for any loss or
additional expenses or inconvenience occasioned by delay,
changes or cancellations of schedules, flights, sickness,
injuries, weather, strikes, war, quarantine, flood or any other
circumstances interfering with, altering or adding to the cost
of accommodation requested or booked. All such losses or
expenses will have to be borne by the client. The Airlines
reserve the right to accept, modify or cancel any tour or
booking made by the client. In case of such cancellation by the
Airlines, any moneys paid by the client will be refunded.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION PERSONAL SAFETY
To ensure that you enjoy trouble-free touring there are a few
BASIC INTERNATIONALLY ACCEPTED safety precautions you should
take.
* Hotels
Most hotels have a safety deposit facility either in the rooms
or at the cashier's desk in reception. Please use it. Do not
leave any money, jewelry or other valuables (including your
passport and tickets) in your room.
In the City
Throughout the world's cities, there is unfortunately a criminal
element that preys on unwary tourists. South Africa has not
escaped this phenomenon.
* DO NOT walk alone in apparently deserted places. Wherever
possible walk with a group of people.
* BE AWARE of the possibility of pickpockets and bag snatchers.
* DO NOT carry more cash than your immediate needs dictate. Use
the hotel safety deposit facility.
* General
* Photocopy the first few pages of your passport and any visas
you have. Also, photocopy your air ticket and any other
documents you may have.
* Carry these photocopies separately from the original
documents. If you should lose your passport and other papers
your photocopies will enable the appropriate authorities to
replace them quickly, thereby minimizing your inconvenience.
* Please ensures that you have adequate and appropriate
insurance cover.
