A Place For Families To Train Together
Now in our sixth year of operation in Kamloops, we are continuing
to see new growth in our North and South shore locations.
Our school separates students according to belt ranking, not
age, which allows parents and their children to attend classes
together. In a society that is very time oriented, this
is a major benefit to families who are looking for shared activities.
Often there are few options available, especially activities
that will appeal to a range of ages.
Every student has different reasons for beginning their training in
Karate, but there are standard skills and abilities that will be learned
by all. Some of the benefits to students include, balance, coordination,
and self control.
Some of our students come to the school with very specifice needs, or
have been recommended to us by their physician or a family counsellor.
Behaviour issues stemming from ADHD, ADD, or FAS are often brought under
control by the discipline of Karate training. This is more than a band
aid approach as students learn skills that will help them for life.
Many students are able to reduce or discontinue the use of medication
as they replace chemical control with self control.
Sensei Jim Doan and his wife Laura both have post secondary educations
that are directed in psychology and social sciences; this greatly assists
them when dealing with a variety of student's needs. Jim has been teaching
Karate for fourteen years and Laura is currently training for her Black
belt, while working on her Masters of Education.
If you would like a unique education that includes physical and mental
training, or have always dreamed of being a Black belt, we would love to
get you started. Contact our Kamloops office at 376-5428 or visit our website
