The WQPR division was formed to register and preserve the bloodlines of Paint Quarter Ponies. Most Paint Quarter Ponies have descended from AQHA and APHA through cross-breeding with Welsh and Shetland Type ponies. These little horses have become extremely popular world-wide with our adults and youth alike. The American Paint Horse Registry was developed when the need for a place for the AQHA cropouts became necessary for preservation. The Quarter Ponies have their crop-outs and Paint counter parts that should be recognized. So, upon the request of the public, there is now a Paint division in the WQPR.
