This is M.a.r.k A.b.e.n.e, also
known as P.h.i.b.e.r O.p.t.i.k. He went to federal prison in 1994
to serve a 12 month sentence after pleading guilty to computer
trespass and conspiracy, although noone has asserted that he
benefited financially from his crimes.
I don't doubt that, but I still think a good
dose of over-the-knee discipline would have done a better job of
bringing the laddy to heel than twelve months in the hoosgow. And
then if he hacked again, why, try a belt ... perhaps in front of
his friends ... maybe on-line with a mike in the right place to
immortalize his expressions of regret.
