NEW YORK: Director of Interpreter Services, New York Society for the Deaf

RESPONSIBILITIES include daily operation of the New York City office, supervision of field offices in Long Island and Binghamton, with a combined volume of over fifty thousand interpreter hours annually, and supervision of staff performing the following tasks: scheduling of assignments, verification of interpreter time sheets, preparation of payments to interpreters, and billing of consumers. Coordinate and supervise evaluation of ASL, English and interpreting skills. The director also prepares contract proposals, monitors their implementation, and drafts quarterlystatistical reports, meets with administrations of agencies statewide to effect improved interpreting service to consumers. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive contribution to the future of the profession of interpreting.

QUALIFICATIONS: CDI-P, CSC, OR CI/CT with MA preferred. Qualified applicants should have a strong background in administration, and possess excellent writing and communication skills.
