Did you forget to bring your camera to the numerous events of the Pink Village Pride Festival 98? Don't worry, several participants did, and from this page you can download their memories. In case you've never visited AW; The quality of these pictures was reduced in order to have small files - this quality can not be compared to the rezolution on what you'll see if you visit AW.
Thanx to the photographers, and of course to all of you who took part in the various events. It was a wonderful weekend, and if you missed it - make sure you'll be there when we celebrate our Pride in 1999!
You can still visit Pride Park or the other locations in Pink Village where the many events took place October 17-18th, 1998.
Official opening, Pride Park
On Saturday 17th of October, at 12:00 vrt, the PV Pride Festival 98 was officially opened by Pink Village's mayor Bille. Idealist, Pride Committee member, asked for a minute of silence to honor the memory of Matthew Shepard, who were murdered because of being gay. "The world is far from accepting us, and we all need to do our part ...and you all are :)", she said. Let's hope that by bringing the Pride tradition to the virtual reality, we can help on doing just that.
After announcing the events of the Pride's first day, there was a photo section under the rainbow flag.

Community booths
During the Pride, several organisations, web sources and communities of AW were presented in the section of community booths.
The AW Community booth was served, and so was the booth presenting PV Women's Center. IALGPC (Interpride) had created a special webpage for their booth.

Alien Date Party
This dating game with participants from outer space turned out to be a great show, lasting for more than one hour. Neither the participants nor the crowd watching them, really knew who were hiding in those alian costumes. The questions and answers, and even comments from the audience, caused a great amount of LOL, ROFL, LOLORF, FOLRFOL - or whatever...:)

The Parade
Arranging a Pride Parade in a virtual environment, where the participants are not able to carry any signs, or to sit in decorated cars, turned out to be quite a challenge. Along the route there were several sound effects, and signs requesting activities, such as shouting "Go! Go! Go!" or clap hands etc. Other surprises were planned, but were not used. 7 ppl marched in the very first VR Pride Parade which went on for about one hour. The group started at the N/W Corner Square, and arrived at Pride Park about one hour later (map). A few of the participants were complaining about hurting feet, bad shoes, high heels etc, but they all completed - bravo:)
