Tom McCormack / MissingTom McCormack is an openly gay singer/songwriter whose recent release, Missing, is well worth a listen.
McCormack has a rough, plaintive voice and a folk/pop ballad approach to songwriting. His songs are heart-felt examinations of love found, lost and troubled. Musically, he's not exactly my cup of tea but lyrically he's compelling and engaging. I can recommend it.
