Halloween

Ghosts and demons roam the night
in search of un-tethered spirits.
And masks are never strong enough
Not enough glamour nor Ritz,

To protect from putrid perverted hands
grappling and gripping tight
Placing facades upon our visage
Hiding everyone's sight

November first faces are off
but masks remain in place
Pumpkin laughs rot in streets
sweets and sugar not a trace

Haunt the wind and fog
Come in and then go
Wintry greetings in summer heat
Phantom Valentines in indigo

Full moon, red as War
Shed blood on the light
Ashy veil blows across
Conquer, see, come with all your might.
