QUESTIONING LIFE

Life presents each of us with interesting choices and we have evolved the ability to contemplate the possible answers enabling us to act upon them instead of react to them as animals do. In addition, in the answering of such questions, by ourselves and by observing those answers of others, we continue our exploration of ourselves, and that is a worthy act indeed.

Below, are the present and previous weeks' questions and the corresponding answers I've received. Please, take your time to answer. All the questions, this or previous weeks', are available to answer. When you can, email your answer(s) which I will post, unless, of course, you'd rather have me keep it (them) to myself. Please, let me know what kind of signature you prefer- ie. "Raziel", "R. Kainne", "Raziel Kainne", "RK", "RK in SF", etc. I will NEVER include your email address unless otherwise specified. Thanx, ahead of time.

The Questions

Question 24:"What do you think is the most soothing sound?"

"THE CONVERSATION PIECE" By Bret Nicholaus and Paul Lowrie

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of yours to Question 24:

"There are a few very soothing sounds I can think of for myself: my mother's humming/singing, any trickling water, crickets at night, the clothes dryer running while i try to sleep. There are more but if I have to pick one, it would have to be the ocean breaking on the beach. I wonder how many others of you would/will pick that. There is a theory that we, as a species, returned to the water sometime back in our evolution after we separated from the other apes. So, is the almost universal appreciation for the ocean and it's sounds more a racial memory? Hmmm..."

-Raziel

Question 23 (January 01, 2001):"What is/are your top New Year's Resolution(s)? (Keep to three.)"

Raziel Angellus Kainne

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of yours to Question 23:

"Though I'm not much for yearly resolutions (I think they are inherently fallable), I will pick some pressing changes I intend to work on. #1'Focus more thoroughly on my physical body's needs.' I tend toward running myself around and 'forget' about taking better care of the flesh. #2"'Explore and solidify monetary opportunities.' As with most people on governmental disability, I must live on a very small (and cruelly/idiotically determined) amount of money- ~$720 a month. I have had some help from a former lover but that will not continue (my choice) now that I feel better able. #3"'Develop special relationships.' Yes, I know this is a problematic 'resolution': some dependance on the unpredictability of others' agendas, etc. But I am prepared and primed for something deeper with a special person (though I do not require it to be happy.)

-Raziel

Question 22 (December 13, 2000):"You've been taken into a canyon. There you must shout out any one sentence you choose. Through the use of advanced technology, your shout and its echo will be bottled and sold throughout the country, to be heard every time someone opens one of the bottles. What words will you shout?"

"The Conversation Piece" by Bret Nicholaus and Paul Lowrie

Here is my answer and some of yours to Question 22:

"'Believe in yourself.' There is a chronic lack of true self respect, acceptance and confidence. Whether you believe or not in Christianity, our society has been structured from it's tenants which have fostered conditions based upon such axioms as pride being a sin. These conditions have resulted in a majority who have been weened on and strive for mediocrity with an active distrust in excellence."

-Raziel

Question 21 (July 24, 1999):"If you had to descibe your personality using a Native American name, what would it be?"

"The Conversation Piece" by Bret nicholaus and Paul Lowrie

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 21:

"As a big proponent of labeling one's self (naturally), I feel everyone should have the support necessary to find and name themselves as they wish. The trouble with choosing a name is finding that one that best fits. Well, let's see... Big Man Who Questions Reality? Or... Small Bird Against Wind? Perhaps... Whirling Fiesty Buck? How about... Shaved White Buffalo? Raging Firestorm in Rut? Any suggestions?"

-Raven

"Well how do you pick? I think you should be named as people see you but here are a few: Dances with Were-Wolves, Sleep by Day, Black as Pitch. Hard to pick one but I like "Walks with Monsters".

-Joe Netherworld

Question 20 (July 10, 1999):"What is your all-time favorite song?"

Raziel Angellus Kainne

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 20:

"My Funny Valentine. It's a song about loving someone for being just the way they are. Have always loved that idea."

-Raziel

"Well I won't say favorite but I will say that there are 2 songs that greatly move me or narrate major events in my life. "Hollow Hills" by Bauhaus. I have always played this song as the closing to many things in my life. From stores to houses to friendships. It's a dire warning to not tread upon what you do not know and that the spirit of someone or something carries on "Lament, Repent oh Mortal you.......

"The other song would be "The Rose" by Bette Midler because it beautifully relates that "love isn't just for the lucky and the strong" and that no matter what the seeds of love will find away through the hardest soil. So that's it both sides of a strange coin."

-Joe Netherworld

"My favorite song(?) is probably The Chaconne in G for organ by Louie Couperin. I named my first poodle after his brother, Franciose Couperin,Le Grande (I called him Couper). He was the grandson of the first poodle to ever win Best of Show at Westminster, so why didn't I name him Louie? Cause I was too dumb to know the difference! I also love "On a Clear Day, You Can See Forever" so go figger."

-hbug

Question 19 (June 30, 1999):"You have the chance to meet someone with whom you can have the most satisfying love imaginable- the stuff of dreams. Sadly, you know that in six months the person will die. Knowing the pain that would follow, would you still want to meet the person and fall in love? What if you know your lover would not die, but instead would betray you?"

"The Book of Questions" by Gregory Stock, Ph.D.

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 19:

"My answer is most definately I would take that offer. Love is never something to be wasted. I would hope I could make that person's remaining lifetime as special as possible and that would be worth all the pain to follow.

"As far as "betrayal" is concerned- that is such a subjective word. It would depend on what kind of "betrayal" this would constitute. Most actions taken by people as "betrayal" are really painful reactions to moralism taught to them by their society. I think that honestly getting to know this love of one's life on their terms as well as one's own, allows for true communication that prevents making assumptions and hurtful self- grandstanding."

-Raziel

"Well of course I would take the offer. Why not nothing is guaranteed. There are no promised tomorrows. Love is too important to rationalize and from what are you protecting yourself from? Some pain you might feel at the loss of love? Love never dies. Pain has no memory. On the subject of betrayal. What of it you can only be betrayed if you have false assumptions about the world. If the Betrayal was specifically hurtful, an attack on me then I would strike back. If it was a matter of circumstance then it's my objectivity at stake, not my personal feelings of betrayal. Only the "blind" can be betrayed, those who "choose" not to see."

-Joe Netherworld

Question 18 (June 13, 1999):"Of all the movie characters you've seen, which one do you believe is most like you?"

"The Conversation Piece" by Bret Nicholaus and Paul lowrie

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 18:

"The first character that came to mind is 'Powder' from the movie of the same name. His general oddness and out of place demeanor certainly remind me of myself. I strive to see the world out from under the blinders we've all had put on us at birth, act with supreme kindness even to those who do me wrong and develop myself with purpose- all as he does so magnificently in the movie."

-Raziel

"Forrest Gump: a character who seemed to see life in the purest of form, with a simplicity so complicated that there was no challenge too great, no obstacle too strong that it could not be met...I have as I reflect back understood that "Life is like a box of chocolates, one never knows what one will get"

-Gabriel

"Sybok, Spock's older half-brother from Star Trek V. He only wanted two things out of life: to find God, and to heal people. He didn't accept the Vulcan dogma of emotional suppression, and pursued what he believed to be his dharma, even though this meant being an outcast. Being twice damned by society myself -- I'm pagan as well as gay -- I can really identify with him.

-Daeadan Faefriend

"I would have to say Dracula from Francis Ford Coppola's "DRACULA" as it was love and revenge that gave him his immortality and also cursed him. I do love all things dark and mysterious and find myself wanting to "know" some-one on a supernatural level. I live not unlike Dracula and have often been persecuted and hunted for my beliefs. So Dracula it is........... 'Listen to them the children of the Night, what sweet music they make.................'"

-Joe Netherworld

Question 17 (March 28, 1999):"Do you believe in any sort of God? If not, do you think you might still pray if you were in a life-threatening situation?"

"The Book of Questions" by Gregory Stock, Ph.D.

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 17:

"Though raised with a sort of Christian ethic, I have no real belief in 'God'. I do believe in the existence of my spirit, a higher order of personal presense. I find myself unable (too arrogant, perhaps) to believe in something intrinsically higher in moral and spiritual value than myself. I DO believe that there are those more specifically spiritually aware or practiced. I think to be alive is to be spiritual. In other words, existence itself is a casual spirituality. This does not preclude my respectful acceptance of another's faith.

"I have been in some tough spots in my life and have WANTED a 'higher presense' of which to ask succor (Pretty poetic, eh?). But I could never get myself to give in to such a thing. I've always found I needed the Truth, no matter how difficult, and to embrace what I call "catastrophic faith' is tattamount to giving in to irrationality, disintegrity and insanity."

-Raziel

"Yes, I believe in the Old Gods; not just a God, but a Goddess as well. My personal pantheon is the Greek, and the two I relate to most are Pan and Hekate. I don't believe I would pray to them in a life threatening situation, not the way a Christian would pray to his/her god. I won't go into detail as to why not, as the explanation is too long and involved. I don't fear death, only the possible manner in which it might occur."

-Daeadan Faefriend

"I was raised a Christian but have not been to church for nearly 20 years, except for funerals and weddings, I must admit that when it comes down to it, yes I believe in God. I pray to him and ask him questions practically every day.

"I do, however, have mixed emotions about this. I have degrees in Biology and Animal Science.I believe in evolution. However, I have to wonder if the beginning of life was actually something left purely to chance. This whole theory of how life started from what's basically a soup of water and minerals seems too hit and miss. Too random. It was doomed to failure, yet, here we are. Makes me wonder if God was stirring the soup."

-Dennis

"I Am GOD!. Now that I've got that off my chest, let me explain. We create our gods, we create ourselves. Though I believe in forces greater than mortal man I do not pray to any deity, except to myself. At one point I considered myself a Satanist, now I consider myself Satanic. That is, I encompass ideals but I do not seperate them from myself. If there are deities watching us they would expect us to live up to the standard they set and not go looking for a hand out in a pinch."

-Joe Netherworld CEO (Chief Executive Ogre) The Devil's Workshop

"I know I exist, that my decisions are my own. That the road ahead is mine to pave. Come good or bad I will not blame nor let credit be given to anyone else. Does any sort of God exist? Sure, why not. Does life exist somewhere else in the universe? Sure, why not.

"Believe in what gets you through to the morning. Am I going to spend what could very well be my last breaths of air? No."

-Sojha

Question 16 (March 16, 1999):"If it were somehow possible for you to join either of the following fictional characters in their adventures and experiences, whom would you choose?"

  1. Huckleberry Finn
  2. Robinson Crusoe

"Think Twice" by Bret Nicholaus and Paul Lowrie

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 16:

"'Robinson Crusoe'. Because I've always wanted to make a life on a deserted island. The weather and flora/fauna would be beautiful and I like the idea of learning to survive on my own by my own hand and witts."

-Raziel

"Robinson Crusoe: I have always had the survival instinct, the idea of sustaining an existence with what nature has provided you excites me, and having survived after the days challenges I would feel gratified."

-Gabriel

"Robinson Crusoe

"Life alone with another guy on a tropical island is very appealling although I expect cabin fever wouldn't take long to set in (esp. if the other guy was straight). What more could one ask for than Mother Gaea in her natural form, unspoiled by the hand of Man? Best of all, being in a tropical environment and away from society, I wouldn't have to wear clothes. Besides, if I had to listen to the way Huck, Jim, and contemporaries speak for more than 30 seconds, I'd go psycho-bugfuck and kill them!

-Daeadan Faefriend

Well The idea of Huck Finn appalls me the Victorian South, Dear God no! Crusoe would be fine. I am a mild sociopath so the isolation would be fine.... On the subject of spending time with my man friday, well I couldn't think of a better paradise...... Please Shipwreck me now.....

-Joe Netherworld CEO (Chief Executive Ogre) The Devil's Workshop

Question 15 (January 24, 1999) -Asked by a "Razing Kainne" cyberist:"Do you think you have had your 'fifteen minutes' of fame?"

-gg

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 15:

"I hope not- if so, I must've been in the bathroom..."

-Raziel

"I believe I have had seconds in my lifetime of what I may perceive as fame. I believe those 15 minutes are measured on the" clock of life", where 1 minute equates to a span of ones journey in life, so yes and no, I still have 14 minutes and 30 seconds left, lots left to do!

-Gabriel

"I've been on local television a few times, being interviewed for this or that...it probably adds up to about 7 1/2 minutes."

-Daeadan Faefriend

"I traded my 15 minutes of fame for a lifetime of imfamy.

"I would rather be notorious than famous. As is the rule, the villian always is the best part of the play. Fame happens to you, notoriety is earned and once achieved can never be lost for better or worse."

-Joe Netherworld CEO (Chief Executive Ogre) The Devil's Workshop

"In this day, those of us who aren't famous are the lucky ones. I wouldn't want my world on the front pages. I bet Monica Lewinsky would say the same thing. Lets be satisfied with our lives and thank the Lord that you are not Linda Tripp."

-Shawn from Albany, Georgia

Question 14 (January 2, 1999):"What is/are your New Year's resolution(s)?"

-"Raziel Kainne"

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 14:

"I usually don't make New Year's resolutions- primarily because I try to continue to grow and adapt as I go.

"But in the interest of leading this questions for all you out there, I'll give some of my goals for this year.

  1. Get myself healthy again. (That means actually following the doctor's orders...)
  2. Save money for a trip to Provincetown this summer. (Part of my 'visiting gay places' adventures...)
  3. Finish my art portfolio. (God what a chore...)
  4. Get a pet that won't die on me. (Any suggestions?)
  5. Read at least three books a month. (Been slacking this year...)
  6. Do more volunteer work. (Every little bit helps...)"

-Raziel

"To begin to think more about satisfying my own needs and less about trying to please others-in other words to admit to myself that charity begins in the home-even one occupied by only one person and two cats, and at 61 years of age I must start to take steps to come out of the closet and live gayly, as full a life as what remains left for me. I am sure I am not alone in these resolutions-therefore-post them up."

signed: Tempus Fugit

"I want to be kinder and more gentle to myself. I tend to forget my needs and worry about the world, then I feel like poop! This is what I resolve to do, in an unselfish way, of course."

-Gabriel

"Probably too late for it, but my resolution is for me to be more sensitive to what people are saying rather than what I'm hearing."

-Dennis

"... In '82 I resolved to never again make a New Year's resolution, and after 17 years, I haven't broken it yet. :-)"

-Daeadan Faefriend in Georgia

Question 13 (October 16, 1998):"What is the spookiest thing that has ever happened to you?"

Raziel Angellus Kainne

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 13:

"A few years ago, I had these 'occurances' where when I would get emotional, light bulbs seemed to go out and/or break. I kinda' got used to it. Then one particular evening, I drove to San Francisco with a high school friend of mine.

"We sat out on a hill over-looking the City talking deeply about secrets and who we were. Because she is a very level-headed person, I revealed to her 'my secret' and as we talked about it, theorizing et al., I got worked up. It was just at this point when the street light above our heads went out. It was a classic moment: we turned to each other then up to the darkened street light. We then looked down the street and all the street lights began to go out for blocks, beginning with the closest set. After a few moments of staring out at the blackness, we scrambled down to the car and high-tailed it out of there. Very spooky."

-Raziel

"One afternoon when I was 12, I had just gotten home from school and was in my room hanging up a new poster. I was alone in the room, when suddenly I was joined by what is best described as a 'presence.' I couldn't see anything, and it made no sound, but I just knew that I wasn't alone anymore. Something was there with me. I finished putting up the poster and then half walked half ran downstairs. It rattled me so badly that I never went upstairs alone again, especially at night.

"That was my first genuine encounter with the spirit world; since then it has happened often enough that I've gotten used to it. I just say 'hello' to the spirit and continue with whatever I was doing when it showed up."

-Daeadan Faefriend in Georgia

Question 12 (October 04, 1998):"You are given the power to kill people simply by thinking of their deaths and twice repeating the word "good-bye." People would die a natural death and no one would suspect you. Are there any situations in which you would use this power?"

"The Book of Questions" - Gregory Stock, Ph.D.

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 12:

"In all honesty, I'd have to guess that there may come a time when it would be at least very tempting to use that kind of power. The problem I have with this kind of question is that it's difficult for me to answer unless it were actually true. I'd like to think I'd be very responsible in it's application (whatever THAT means). With the 'luxury' of not being able to follow through, I think I would feel 'safer' in proposing the use of it. Brings up the questions of intent and whether our own words possess power beyond their apparent function.

"With this moralizing disclaimer said, yes, I can imagine using such a power. Certainly, it would be 'nice' to cull the 'trash' out of the human race- such as those hateful and powerful enough to make or influence decisions for a nation. Jesse Helms, Newt Gingrich, Trent Lott, Saddam Hussein, the Olsen Twins, are just a few that tickle my mind."

-Raziel

"Yes, whenever I meet a lawyer, a politician, or answer the phone and there's a telemarketer on the other end."

-Daeadan Faefriend in Georgia

-Daeadan Faefriend in Georgia

Question 10 (August 26, 1998):"If you were to write an ad to put in the personals for a weekend fling, how would you word it?"

"If... (Questions for the Game of Love)" - Evelyn McFarlane & James Saywell

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 10:

"48 hrs. of unfettered passion urgently needed by a powerful, young, vital GWM. Openess, caring, intensity- a must. If you're man enough to laugh till it hurts, fuck hard, love gently, bare your heart, your soul and your ass, I'm for you."

-Raziel

"Single GWM- Kind, Caring, with a sharp mind. Seeks someone for good friendship and great fuck. Loves horses (has 3) and thinks the most romantic thing is to go on a long trail ride in woods and then go swimming (with out clothes) and dry off in the sun before getting all sweaty again (before the clothes go back on)!"

-RN in FL

"'A long, hot shower, washing each other gently... a full body massage with warm, scented oil by candlelight and soft music followed by...? Is this for you... with me?'"

-Daeadan Faefriend in Georgia

"The Conversation Piece" - Bret Nicholaus and Paul Lowrie

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 7:

"Variations of the color blue.

"Blue is very tranquil. Sky, water, the eyes of my father and uncle."

-Raziel

"I'd have to say green because it would suck to never see a green tree or green leaves on a plant. At stop lights, I'd sit there all day long because I'd never know when to go. When bread and meat turn green, I'd know that it's time to clean out the fridge. If I couldn't see green, I'd never know when my various gadgets are fully charged."

-Dennis

"Variations of the color green.

-MM

"We are all but one race, Made in the image of god grace. The beauty that he possess inside, we also possess inside. There is no colour in his eyes, nor shape, form or fashion. Only the beautiful spirit that he has given unto us. There I'm thankful for the colour I am cuz in my eyes, I see no colour only the beauty inside."

-Shane (TN)

"Blue. I love a number of colors, but this is my favorite. Very peaceful, and the color of the sky and the ocean."

-Daeadan Faefriend in Georgia

Question 6 (June 28, 1998): What was/is your most enjoyable dream? Your worst nightmare?

"The Book of Questions" - Gregory Stock, PhD.

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 6:

"My most enjoyable dream: It would have to be one of my frequent, famous "epic" dreams."

"My worst nightmare: This is one of my recurring nightmares.

-Raziel

"My most enjoyable dream: It's night and I am lying on my back in a field staring up at the sky. It is filled with literally billions of stars, as if every star in the entire universe could be seen with the naked eye. They were every color of the rainbow and were dancing around each other. It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen.

My worst nightmare: There was something wrong with my toilet, it was stopped up. I fetched a plunger and went to work. Then I found out what had caused the blockage: someone had flushed an entire litter of kittens down the toilet, drowning them."

-Daeadan Faefriend in Georgia

"I'd like to be able to fly effortlessly, with all the necessary physical attributes to make it possible."

-Raziel

"To become, at will, invisible to anyone and/or everyone."

-BM in TO

"...the ability to go back 24 hours in my life."

-Dennis

"If I could wake up tomorrow with one ability, I would like it to be the power to protect the people I love from the dangers of the world."

-MM

"I would want the quality of unconditional, selfless love that Mother Theresa had, that enabled her to devote her entire existence to caring for others."

-Daeadan Faefriend in Georgia

Question 4 (June 14, 1998): If your lover asked you to do one thing (of your choice) that you've never done before, in order to prove your love for them, what would it be? (Assume you have a lover, if you don't.)

"If...(Questions for the Game of Love)" - Evelyn McFarlane & James Saywell

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 4:

"Write and perform a song for him in public."

-Raziel

"I would organize my lover's and my wedding and hold it as a surprise party for them. I think that would pretty much prove it."

-BM in TO

"I would probably write a piece of original poetry and read it in a public place."

-MM

"I would sing the song that was sung by Celine Dion THE COLOUR OF MY LOVE to him In front of everyone no matter where we were, even on the radio."

-Shane (TN)

"Absolutely nothing. If I have to do something to prove to someone that I love them, then that individual would be paranoid and insecure, and would never truly believe in my love no matter what I did or how often I did it."

-Daeadan Faefriend in Georgia

Question 3 (June 07, 1998): Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as your dinner guest? as your close friend? as your lover?

"The Book of Questions" - Gregory Stock, Ph.D.

Click to answer HERE

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 3:

"There are at least a few ways to answer this question. I am the kind of person that must get to know someone before I feel the amorphous set of feelings I require to make these kinds of decisions. Yet, I'm tempted by two that would preclude people I know or would realistically meet. I chose to answer both of these.

"First, separating the choices into three different people:

"And second, indulging my deepest desire to meet that one person I would love to have dinner with, get to know as a close friend, and finally, share my love life with (again barring reality):

-Raziel

"Does Greg Stock know that you are his #1 Salesman for 1998?

"Dinner Guest: Merv Griffin

"People may mock poor Mervy, but the man has produced some of the longest running and biggest money making game shows in history. He regularly schmoozes with the who's who of Hollywood and has done so for decades. If anyone's got some stories to tell, it's him.

"Close Friend: Ed Harris

"A sexy actor and a mature man. This guy combines masculinity, vulnerability, and great warmth. An intellectual who would pull out a Magnum and protect his close friend at a moment's notice.

"Lover: Brian Bloom

"Dark hair, a hairy chest, and the lightest blue eyes ever. Need I say more?"?"

-BM in TO

"Dinner Guest: Steven Hawking: For a man confined to a wheelchair, he has an unmatched understanding of our universe. A universe he will never walk around in or touch. It would be fascinating to sit down and chat with him over dinner some evening. pondering wormholes and supernovas, and where we fit into it all.

"Close Friend: Princess Diana: Despite her tragic death, she was an inspiration to people all over the world. Overcoming so many personal problems, and devoting her life to those who needed her. I was saddened by her death, and I know that millions were touched by her and will miss her.

"Lover: Brady Anderson: This one is kind of a shallow one. He is very attractive sexually, and seems to be a nice guy to boot. I would love to get to know him and be with him.

-MM

"Does it have to be someone still living?"

  1. My dinner guest -- Mother Theresa. If anyone on earth ever came close to being another Jesus, it had to be her.
  2. My friend -- Robin Williams. The man is insame, and there would never be a dull moment. If laughter is truly the best medicine then I would never be sick a day in my life with him around.
  3. My lover -- the Brewer Twins. I think these guys are hot, and I'd love a chance to get them both in bed at the same time."

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 2:

"There are plenty of things that I don't know about, that we, as beings, are not conscious of. In my own life I've had frequent "unexplained phenomena" occur but it is just that to me, unexplained. I don't believe in spirits but I'm open to changing my mind. Sure I'd spend the night in a supposedly haunted house- provided it had cable and the fridge was stocked..."

-Raziel

"Who is this Greg Stock guy and why does he ask all these zany questions?

"I have to admit, I don't really believe in ghosts or evil spirits, but I do believe in paranoia and bad karma and it's the combination of the two that gives you the "crazies" when you are alone in a creepy place. If you do bad things to other people and you have guilt about it, there's no telling what your head's going to dream up.

"So, when my Uncle Giggles leaves me his estate with the stipulation that I spend a night in his haunted mansion, I'll be there."

-BM in TO

"While I never experienced anything I would classify as paranormal, I always am willing to visit places that are supposedly "haunted". There were several around the town where I went to school, and by the time I was a Senior I had visisted all of them.

"As for spending the night alone in one of them...I don't think so. I would with some company from at least 1 other person, but not alone."

-MM

"Yes, I believe in ghosts and evil spirits, because I've been having encounter with them since I was 13 y/o; after a while you get used to it. And I've lived in houses that were haunted-- I live in one now-- so spending the night in a haunted house wouldn't be anything new to me.

"You know what they say: been there, done that, got the t-shirt!"

Question 1 (May 24, 1998): For a person you loved deeply, would you be willing to move to a distant country knowing there would be little chance of seeing your friends or family again?

"The Book of Questions" - Gregory Stock, Ph.D.

Here is my answer and some of your's to Question 1:

"Yes, I would move. I believe that life is an adventure and that love is perhaps the biggest adventure I can have. There are no guarantees and lots of risks but that's how I learn and what makes life exciting. For someone I really love, I would build a life with that person anywhere..."

-Raziel

"If you love someone deeply and I do not mean passionate love, you would be willing to sacrifice in order to be with that person. If your friends were true friends, they will always be there for you and nothing will change that. Well, family is blood and they will always be there for you. They should always love and support you. your happiness is the main factor!"

-GT

"In answer to your question, I think I would consider moving to a far away place to be with the one I loved at the possible expense of ever being able to see my loved ones again.

Am I a fence sitter or what....???

Seriously, when I've been with the one(s) I've loved, I've felt like we could do anything together, like conquering the world, etc.....you name it. Every day is a new adventure and I sleep so peacefully cuddled up next to them that I'm totally ready to face anything that comes my way in the morning.

The challenge is sustaining that for a lifetime with the realization that one of you is going to pass on before the other and leave the other to deal with past roadblocks now as a team of one.

With modern communication and travel mediums, nobody has to leave anyone behind completely. Friends and family are always an e-mail or phone call away. Although sustaining long distance friendships can be difficult, it's one of the best investments in time that one can ever make.

In short, the answer is YES.....if I've tested the waters, trust is established, and the chemistry is right.....I'd pack my bags for Mr. Right."

-BM in TO

"To the answer to you(r) Que, I would have to say, Yes Your family will always be ther(e) for you and support you through thick and thin. Because blood is thick(er) than water. And friend(s), If the(y) are truelu your friend(s) the(y) would support you in you(r) decision, and if not you can alwaus make new friends. But there (is) always the chance that you will never find the true love that you found the first time."

-Shane (TN)

Yes I would. Everyone I know who is important to me, I carry with me in my heart. And even if I might never see them again, that doesn't mean I couldn't stay in contact with them in one way or another. And I believe in reincarnation, so if the bond between myself and another in this lifetime is strong enough, then we will be drawn together in another, so in a sense I would see them again."
