Sweat Lodge: December 5, 1998

Theme: Inward focus

Time: Arrive at Bee's by 4 to build, plan to enter by 6.

Structure:

Cleansing:

----- Each person doing a quarter call will also do a cleansing related to that element.

Quarters

-----East-AH.
-----South-JS.
-----West-MR.
-----North-CB.
-----Center-Weavre.
-----No specific deity invocations

Attunement

Pipe passed (outside; can symbolically touch with lips if do not want to breathe smoke).
Circle massage. Grasp a knotted rope together and turn inward.

Enter lodge

-----Weavre will dip the water.
-----People outside the lodge--drumming, fire, etc.
-----Silence in the lodge, but can speak up when there's reason.
-----Open rounds when talking seems important.

Exit lodge

-----when ready individually.
-----Washtub by fire.
-----Rinsed (by sisters or self) with sponge and basin

Group grounding

-----food and drink.
-----Root veggie tray-Weavre.
-----Bread-MT.
-----Ginger Tea-MR.

Release space

(each who called quarters).

OK to stay night, but no big slumber party. Leave in morning promptly. After ritual, hangout time, talk, hot tub.

Reminders

Everyone bring:
-----water bottle,
-----2 towels,
-----anything you want to take with you into the lodge,
-----shower gear for afterwards,
-----lodge wrappings if desired.
