The Trojan War now centers on two women: the careworn but still beautiful Helen, struggling to break free of her husband, Paris, who cares only for glory, and her friend Xena, whom Helen urges to come to Troy. Gabrielle meanwhile finds herself drawn to a brave Trojan soldier named Perdicas, to whom she had been betrothed before leaving home for a life beyond her village. Not even Xena can save the walled city, which is fated to perish at the hands of the Greeks. But the Warrior Princess saves Helen from the traitor Deiphobus, and frees her to live with renewed purpose, as they leave the wreckage of Troy in the distance. |
