Xena goes undercover to save a woman named Flora, who has fallen in love with one of a group of freedom fighters and been imprisoned with them. Assuring King Xerxes that she can discover who is the notorious rebel leader, the Black Wolf, Xena arranges to be jailed with them. Joining her soon after-ward are Gabrielle (by design) and the peddler Salmoneus (by mischance), who assist Xena's plans to help the revolutionaries escape. But Xena must overcome the suspicions of Flora's lover, Diomedes, uncover a traitor in their band, and learn the identity of the Black Wolf, before she can spring her plan to free Flora and topple Xerxes. |
