Callisto:

"You made me [who i am]!" exults Callisto, who was a child when Xena's army torched her village of Cirra, killing her mother and sister, and she is now a full-grown psychotic bent on vengeance. Xena remembers Cirra with terrible pain and guilt, for "that was one time when my army was responsible for the deaths of women and children". After Callisto and her cutthroats massacre villagers, Xena brings her in as a prisoner to stand trial while Callisto taunts, "Have you ever been tried for all of the things you have done?" but Xena's pity for Callisto fades after she escapes and abducts Gabrielle, leading the Warrior Princess to track and defeat her nemesis in a fight on ladders above a burning pyre.
