It was closing time and Paddy was ready to lock up. The only thing that prevented him from doing so was his sister. She was having the best of conversations she’s had in months with a lovely bloke and he didn’t want to interrupt. He walked up to them and eavesdropped their conversation, wishing more than hoping that their date will soon come to and end.
”You serious? I can’t believe you’d do that!” Shane said, intrigued.
”Why shouldn’t I?” Siobhan asked. “I’m sure you pretty much know me for my sarcastic attitude and straight forward honesty that I’d do that. I went straight up to him, slapped him on the face and said ‘By the way… I’m not your girl.’” Shane chuckled and then saw Paddy hovering over both of them.
”I’m sorry sis, I was kinda hoping to close-“
”Sure, but you’ve got another half hour.” Siobhan said glancing at her watch. She gasped. It was thirty-five minutes after closing time. “Er… Oops. Ok, I guess we better leave then.” She said and got up. Shane said goodnight to Paddy and followed Siobhan out. They both chuckled when they left none of them felt that so much time passed by. They had such a lovely conversation and were both upset that it had to end suddenly, without warning.
”Can I see you again?” Shane asked.
”I’d love that.” Siobhan answered inching closer then pecking Shane’s cheek. He held her hand and bent down to her kissing her lips softly.
”That’d be great.” He smiled.
Chapter 11
From that day onwards all Shane’s thoughts were focused on Siobhan. Throughout the weekend Shane just spent his time in Paddy’s pub talking to Siobhan, dancing with her on the dance-floor and having the time of his life. He couldn’t remember a happier time before Siobhan walked into his life. Danielle became a figment of his imagination.
They both just finished dancing and headed back to the bar for another drink. As they waited Shane just stared at her, enjoying her beauty, enjoying her company. She had long flowing red hair and the tips seemed to curl up into ringlets. Siobhan smiled at him, puzzled at his strange gaze. He smiled back watching her green eyes as she focused on him.
”What are you thinking, Mr. Filan?” She asked amused. Shane came out of dreamland and grinned at her.
”I was thinking of beauty. Thinking of how beautiful things can merge into one body of exquisiteness…”
”And?”
”…And I realized there is such a thing and I’m staring at it.” Siobhan blushed. She rarely blushed and that just excited Shane. He smiled sweetly at her begging for a kiss with his pouting lips. Siobhan teased him. She leaned forward and he closed his eyes, then she kissed him lightly on the nose and drew away. He opened his eyes and pouted even more, this time adding his puppy-dog-eyes into his expression. She giggled and this time gave him what he wanted, what she wanted and kissed him softly on the lips. He drew his arms around her waist and pulled her closer turning the kiss into one of passion.
Shane invited Siobhan to his home, knowing he won’t get to see her for quite a while because he had lots to do in London in the next coming week, and he probably won’t have a minute spare. He showed her a quick glance around the café and then took her upstairs to his room. Siobhan smiled as she walked in to his room. It was just as she thought it would be. There was a side table full of fan letters some were open but most of them just lay there unopened. In one of the corners there was a pile of stuffed animals all sizes and shapes. Siobhan turned her head and looked at the bed. It seemed nice and cozy and inviting.
”It’s a lovely room you have.” She said looking back at him.
”Thank you.” Shane smiled. “Would you like to sit?” He asked and in response she went over to his bed and sat on it. She smiled up at him and patted the vacant space beside her. Shane took a deep breath and sat beside her. They sat there in silence for a while just gazing at each other. She was the most beautiful thing in the world, he thought. Her red flaming hair could burn his eyes if he looked at it long enough so instead he looked into her green eyes and lifted a hand to touch her soft silky hair. Siobhan smiled looking deep into his hazel-green eyes seeing love for her, though he hadn’t uttered the words yet. His lips pouted then, they did it often when he was longing for a kiss. Siobhan wanted one too so she leaned forward as Shane’s hand slipped under her hair, caressing her neck softly and they both kissed. Her arms wrapped around his neck her fingers running through his short hair. They kept on kissing till they ran out of breath and drew away slowly. Shane smiled at her. “You’re beautiful.” He whispered. Siobhan kissed him again, pulling him against her as hard as she could. She lay back on the bed. Shane pressed against her, lying on top of her.
Chapter 12
Shane sighed happily as he glanced over at Siobhan who was lying beside him. She giggled, hearing him sigh and leaned over to kiss his cheek. As she drew away she noticed a stuffed animal on Shane’s side of the bed, hiding under the covers. She leaned over him and pulled the stuffed toy out from under the covers.
”Aw… That’s just the most adorable cute little teddy bear I’ve ever seen.” She smiled. It was soft and furry and cuddly. The pink bow on its neck gave it a perfect touch. “Do you usually go to bed with a teddy?” Siobhan teased Shane. He smiled bitterly at the bear reached for it and held it on his chest and sighed. “What’s the matter?” Siobhan asked. Shane sat up and turned to Siobhan to tell her the tale of the teddy bear with the pink bow.
“So you see?” Shane said upset.
”Yes. I do. You are frustrated. I can understand that.” She smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder. Both of them were quiet for some time. They were both thinking of Danielle. Shane was becoming more frustrated now. For two days he hadn’t thought of her and now it felt even worse. He didn’t love her that’s for sure, he assumed it was only because of the unknown. It was tagging at him like crazy. Siobhan broke the silence. “Why don’t you go and ask her to finish telling you what happened?” She suggested.
”That’s a lovely thought, Siobhan, but I don’t have time to fly to Switzerland just to ask someone to finish a story for me.” He said sarcastically. Siobhan ignored his sarcasm.
”It’s not just someone, Shane. It’s a grateful someone, it’s Danielle.” Shane smiled at Siobhan being so supportive. He threw the teddy to one side and pulled her close to him kissing her softly. “Forget about her. I’ve got you.” He leaned his forehead on hers and smiled. “I love you, Siobhan.” Shane said kissing her again longingly. Wrapping his arms round her waist.
”I love you too.” Siobhan said after she drew away to catch her breath.
