Have you played in a band before?
Shane: Kian Mark, and Me who are from the north-west part of Ireland, started the band, which was the first one for all of us. Nicky and Bryan are from Dublin. Kian has been on stage since the age of five, me and Mark started to perform when we were twelve, Bryan has gone to a dance-school since he was four years old and Nicky used to perform at his father’s karaoke-restaurant the last couple of years. We love being on stage so this is really our dream.
Do you only sing Boyzone-ballads?
Shane: No, our second single is a little bit more up-tempo than Swear It Again. The album contains both ballads and good pop-songs. The love-ballads are probably our strongest side. It feels more real to sing ballads, it’s more sensitive.
Will it be fun to be chased by crazy fans?
Kian: It’s quite scary that we have so many fans already. But it is fantastic. We love screaming girls. It’s just fun.
Nicky: If it gets worse we’ll get scared.
Are you as sweet as all the boybands?
Nicky: I’m a very domestic person, I’m very close to my parents and my sister. I worry about them day and night, especially wen I’m not at home. I’m also a generous and caring person. And very romantic, I think all the five of us are romantic.
Shane: I’m quite funny and I can be shy and nervous at wrong occasions.
Like when?
Shane: Well, not on stage, but when I meet people that I don’t know. I’m caring and romantic too.
Kian: I don’t have any good sides. I guess I’m romantic.
What do you mean with romantic? Many girls complain on their boyfriends for not being romantic enough.
Shane: I love girls!
Kian: I like asking a girl out for a dinner with candles, to follow her home, to buy roses…to make her feel special.
Do you have girlfriends?
Nicky: I’m the only one in the band who has a girlfriend. It’s very difficult now when I travel so much, but you have to make it work.
Isn’t she afraid of you meeting someone else?
Nicky: No, but she’s worried because I fly so much. We trust each other and she’s busy with her own life. So far everything’s good.
Do you think that Swedes are shy?
Shane: The girls are not! They are very forward.
