chapter nineteen
outside the room
Mark was standing against the wall after going outside to get a fresh air. 'I should've never confessed like that. She's been through a lot today.' he thought.
Then he heard sobs from inside Emily's room. He couldn't resist the temptation to peek through what was going on. Slowly he moved toward the small window and peeked through. He looked at Emily's wet by tears face and he felt a deep pain inside him.
'I should've gone inside and give her a hug. I should've never walked out like that. She'd think that everyone was going to leave her at the end.' Mark was mumbling to himself.
inside the room
'I don't know where he is. He doesn't seem too good either. Do you want me to get him?' Nicky's offer sounded like my last chance. 'Yes please.' 'Alright, hang on here. I'll get him.' When Nicky stood up, I pulled his hand.
'Nicky?' 'Yeah?' 'Thank you so much. Thank you for coming right on time to save me.' I smiled at him. 'You're welcome Em.' He came over again and gave me a hug.
When Nicky was finally walking toward the door, I saw him doing a body language, as if someone was there and he was telling the person to come in. 'Look at that cheeky monkey. He was standing in front of the door, peeking through the window.' I didn't have a clue who it was. 'I'll get him okay?'
'Emily, you want me?'
