flying without wings

chapter two

I was shaking really hard. First, because it was getting colder and colder. Second, for heaven's sake, it's *the* Bryan McFadden of *the* Westside. How could I be so stupid?

'It's Emily' Bryan's face turned into a puzzle but then he shrugged off. I was thinking what was wrong with him but it slipped away quickly. It was brilliant that I managed to introduce myself to him. I was thinking, 'WOW!' when he chipped in again, 'You look as if you're about to die in the cold. Come on, I'll buy you a cup of hot coffee!'

I was thinking 'Oh my GOD!' But, somehow, I did follow him. He was walking in front of me and I was rushing my steps behind him when he stopped. 'Come here, walk beside me. Man, you do look freezing!' He waved his hand to his right side then laughed.

I have always been a great pop fan and I was getting myself familiar with Westside. I was betting everyone that Westside were going to be the next hot thing, well, since I was a great fan of Boyzone as well.

'So, do you live here?' Suddenly Bryan chipped in again. This Bryan was trying to make a conversation with me, the little ol' me. 'Yeah. I've just moved down to Dublin couple of weeks ago.' 'Really? How do you like Dublin so far? Where do you come from?'

At this point I really couldn't stand the cold anymore, or so I thought. My shopping bags started to slipped from my hands. My head was spinning like crazy. I was feeling really weak, it was very embarrassing to be looking like that in front of everyone on the street.

I think Bryan knew what was I up to and he turned to look at me and started to panic. He was yelling to get help. I could hear him shouting for someone named Shane and Mark. I think he might be banging a window. I fell down, feeling like I was about to die or something.

Bryan was holding me and he was saying something like 'It's gonna be all right Emily. Everything's gonna be all right. We're getting help for you.' I was crying by then because I've never been through this kind of thing before and I was with a stranger, trying to get through it. 'Ssshhhh.. It's gonna be alright. You'll be fine. I'm here. Here, hold my hand.' I couldn't breathe, now I've been through this before but it always managed to panic me. I tried to take a hold of Bryan's hand. I still remember, it was so warm I felt like I was in my mam's arms. After that I couldn't remember the rest. Everything went black.
