"I did but it was turned off."
"It wasn't turned off for four years!"
"I know, just listen to me," I paused. "Sit down and I'll explain... I phoned you once but it was turned off, then I found a CD with you on it - Westlife, Swear It Again. I felt so stupid! 'Just another girl to him' I thought so I just carried on with my life. I got a new job, moved to London,

"Steven is your son, Shane." I turned away from him and stared out of the window. "He's your son."
"Mine?"
"Yeah. Now are you happy?" I got angry with him. All the hurt that I had been through and he hadn't. "Just go, Shane, go and forget about me. Forget about us. Steven's fine, he doesn't need you. We don't need you!"
"I'm going," Shane got up and walked out. I slumped to the floor and cried. I don't know what I cried for, but I did.
