chapter one

'Dorothy, guess what?' Melody looked at the little girl and gave her a big smile.

'You've bought me something?' Dorothy smiled back.

'Yep! Guess what I've bought?'

'Hmm...Lollipop?'

'Nooo...'

'Teddy bear?'

'No.....!'

'Comics?'

'Noooooooooo.'

'Oh....story books? I don't want any storybooks.....'

'No I didn't buy any books. Don't worry.'

'Posters?'

'No but it's closer..'

'Please tell me....' Dorothy gave Melody a cutie look.

'OK…See these!' Melody put out some CDs and handed them to Dorothy.

'Thanks!!!!! I love you!!!!!!' Dorothy was very happy. She picked one of the CDs and told Melody. 'Westlife!! I love them! You love them too?'

'Not at all. But I'm happy you like the CDs.' Melody smiled. 'Why you like Westlife?'

'Because they are cool. Nahh...' Dorothy pointed to the Westlife CD and told Melody, 'This one on the left is Bryan, then this is Mark, Nicky, Shane and Kian. I love Shane best, cuz' he's cute.'

'But I think he's not as cute as you.' Melody laughed.

'Nah...He's the cutiest!' Dorothy protested. 'Calm down Dorothy...' Melody tried to calm the jumping girl down. 'Oh I have to leave now...'

'Oh NO!!!!' Dorothy begged.

'I have to go home now. And you should have your sleep. I promise I'll visit you soon...maybe with a Westlife poster!'

'OWW thanks!'

'See you babe..'

'Bye Bye!'

Melody slowly walked out of the room. She was tired. She has visited at least 15 children. She yawned in the lobby of the hospital.

'You're very sleepy?' Doctor Carter smiled and came in front of Melody.

'Just a little tired...But it's fine.' Melody replied.

'The children seem like you very much. You really did a good job.'

'I'm happy to see them and play with them. They're all so lovely. But too unlucky they are...'

'Yes. They don't really understand how terrible Cancer is......Anyway, it's kind of you to come here every week.'

''You're welcome. Actually I like them. I should thank them for bringing joy to me.'

'You're so nice. Only a few teens like to work in social services.'

Melody smiled.

'Oh I forgot you have to school tomorrow.' Doctor Carter looked at his watch. 'Goodbye for now and I'll see the children.'

'Bye Doctor Carter.'

Melody quickly rushed to home.

the next morning

'You're sleepy?' Karen asked Melody.

'Yes a little.'

'You visited those children again yesterday?'

'Yep.'

'I always don't understand you. Why you go those boring places?'

'No. The children are not boring. There's a lot of fun!'

'You're weird.'

'No I'm not.'

'Forget it. I've heard that Westlife will come to our town next week. I think I'll skip school. So don't tell the teachers and my parents.'

'Ok I won't. But don't you think it's not good to skip school?'

'Yes it is. But I want to see Westlife and kiss them.'

'You're so....Don't tell me about pop stars anymore!'

Karen rolled her eyes and walked away.
