chapter three
In the corner Bryan and Nicky were laughing and joking around.
"Can u believe it, I think Bryan and Nicky might be on speaking terms again. Lin are u listening? Hello...?"
"Oh sorry Shane I was miles away." Lin couldn't believe how handsome Bryan looked and just couldn't take her eyes off him. She had that familiar fluttering in her stomach like she always did when she was near him. She didn't know how to control this and was becoming quite scared of these feelings.
Just then she noticed Bryan looking at her and she felt her stomach doing summersaults, she quickly exited to the kitchen to get a drink of water.
"God why is this happening? You'd think I was in love with him or something. Now calm down it's just Bry, plain old Bry there's no way I could have feelings for him he's just a mate." Lin didn't notice Bryan in the door way with the hurt expression and his broken heart.
Bryan ran up stairs to the bathroom where no one would hear him cry. He just couldn't believe it. Oh who was he trying to kid, he knew all along that these feelings he had for Lin were only one sided. He knew she'd never love him back that she'd only ever think of him as Bryan one of her best friends, but it still hurt to actually hear her say them.
Down stairs in the living room Lin was chatting with Shane when Bryan came in and announced it was time to leave. He quickly said his good byes and dragged Vicky to the car. "So did it work?" Asked Vicky excitedly
"No, I heard her talking to herself saying that she could never have feelings for me." Replied Bryan with a huge lump in his throat.
"I'm sorry Bryan, she's a fool to pass u up."
"Yeah whatever. I'll drive u home."
After Bryan had dropped her home, he couldn't stop thinking about how stupid he had been by pretending that Vicky was his girlfriend, just to make Lin jealous.
"As if she would ever be jealous, she made it quite clear how she feels about me." And with that Bryan went on home.
Lin was waiting up for Bryan so they could have a chat. She felt as if they we're growing apart and she had to do something about it. She wouldn't loose him; she'd die first.
"Lin what are u still doing up?"
"I thought I'd wait for u, maybe we can have a bit of a goss? We haven't done that in a while."
"Yeah why not." Replied Bryan sitting down next to her. Both of them felt that familiar flutter again but both of them shrugged it aside.
After about two hours they were both feeling really tired and decided to call it a night. They both walked up the stairs and stood talking at their doors a while longer. As Lin turned to leave Bryan suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her back. They stood there face to face each wishing the other one would kiss them but new it would never happen, they were just good friends. Nothing more. |
