We left for the hotel coz the guys were supposed to pack their bags and have everything done until morning came. When we got back I went straight into my room where I found the twins.

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday my dear friends, Happy Birthday to you!" I sang to them right away.

"Oh, she remembered…"

"How could I have forgotten that? You're me mates and I love you!"

"Thanx for remembering! What's with the cheerful mood?"

"Are you ready for this?"

"For what?"

"Shane and I got engaged…"

"What?!!"

"Yes, he bought me this wonderful ring…" I said showing it to them.

"Wow, it looks great!"

"Yeah and I bought him one myself…"

"You did?"

"Yes and then we went to Notre-Dame and made vows to each other."

"You're joking!"

"No, I'm not. It was the best thing in the world!"

"You bet! Oh we're so happy for you!" they said and we all hugged.

Shane entered the room finding us like that.

"Hey! Congratulations man! You've got yourself a nice gal here. But you knew that already, didn't you?"

"Yeah, thanx! Oh, Happy Birthday gals!"

"Thank you! Isn't he sweet?"

"The sweetest!"

"Look I came to pick up the rest of my things. As I understood the rest of the guys already took theirs."

"Yeah, here they are!" said Oli giving him his bag.

"Thanx… I'd better go now and finish packing…"

"Yeah, you'd better do that…" I said turning around and not letting him see the tears in my eyes.

He closed the door behind him and then I turned around again.

"Hey, what's wrong baby?"

"He's leaving Val…"

"Oh come here…" she said spreading her arms.

"What am I going to do without him? I can't let him go…"

"You have to let him go back home. He has to. He cannot stay here even if he wanted to. And I'm sure he wants to stay, but it's impossible. You'll see each other soon."

"I sure hope so…"

I sat on the bed and put my head in her lap and cried my eyes out. She kept on caressing my hair and assuring me that everything was going to be OK. I finally fell asleep.

"Lee? Lee… wake up…" I heard Shane whispering.

"Oh shit! I fell asleep and I promised not to!"

"It's OK. We all slept a little, we were too tired not to."

"What time is it?"

"It's 8:30. Let's have breakfast and then we have to leave for the airport…"

I got up and washed my face and brushed my teeth. Then I went to the restaurant.

"Mornin' Lee…" said Celine softly.

"Mornin' everybody…"

We were all so sad. Nobody wanted them to go, not even the girls from my group. Shane prepared me some slices of bread with jello and nutella and he brought me a cup of chocolate. I wasn't able to eat anything.

"I'm not hungry…"

"You have to eat something, you'll have a busy day today."

"But I can't. I really don't feel like eating. See, I can't even swallow…"

"OK then… But take them with you for later and at least drink your chocolate."

"I'll try…"

I drank my chocolate and meanwhile Shane packed my sandwiches. No one was able to eat anything. After a while we stood up and went to the guys' room. The bags were all packed, they were ready to go. The plane was supposed to leave at 11:15. It was 9:30. I took my bag and we got in the hall. All the girls from the choir were on the hall. The guys said good-bye to everyone, including Tibi and then we left for the airport. We arrived there at 10:30. The guys went to check in and then we walked together with them to the terminal. Nobody was saying a thing.

"Oh God, how I'm going to miss you! You cannot imagine…"

"I can coz I'm gonna miss you twice that much…"

"Lee, don't ever dare to forget that I love you and I always will. I'll call you as soon as possible, I'll write to you everyday and I'll come to see you when I can. No, don't cry or I'll cry too and I'm supposed to be the macho man, right?"

I was fighting back the tears, but it was like trying to stop the fire pouring gasoline on it. He took me in his arms and kissed me for a long time. We heard the last call for their flight and we knew we had to say good-bye. Firstly, I went to Kian and gave him a long hug and kissed his cheeks.

"I'm gonna miss you Ki, take care of Shane for me please!"

"I will, you take care of Celine" he said giving me another hug.

I think that everybody was asking the others the same favour. I went to Mark and hugged him too. I turned back to Shane and I kissed him for the last time. Then they went through the long corridor. We kept on waving to them until they disappeared. We waited till the plane took off and then left the airport and went back to the hotel. I got on stage for the next ten concerts, but I wasn't able to take my mind off Shane. They called us on Celine mobile when they got to Sligo and told us how much they were already missing us. After another week I left home with my choir leaving behind another two good friends, Celine and Amy.

"Hello Lee. It's Celine! Can you actually believe this?"

"I cannot believe that we didn't trust them. They were telling the truth all this whole time."

"Yeah and they are our boyfriends and we considered them liars."

"When Shane came here last month he kept on telling me about Ronan and how wonderful he was as their co-manager, but I didn't believe him. And now if I think right, he couldn't have known so many things about Ronan as he did."

"Yeah, Kian told me about him too. But we had no proof. Can you believe it?"

"I can now. There was your proof on MTV."

"Have you seen how sweet Kian was?"

"Yeah and Mark. They were looking nice. But I'm upset Shane wasn't there. I wonder why? Celine, thanx for calling back. It's somebody ringing at the door. I have to hang up."

"OK. Seeing that on MTV made my day brighter…"

"It surely did mine. Now I can get back to study. Who the hell is at the door? It doesn't stop ringing! Talk to you soon! Bye!"

"Bye Lee!"

I hung up and went to the door real pissed off. I opened the door and there he was…

"Shane?! What are you doing here? I've just seen Westlife on MTV and you weren't there…"

"I was on the road from Sligo to Dublin to catch the plane and come to see you… Hey love! Did you miss me?"

"Do you have to ask?" I asked pulling him close to me and giving him a long passionately kiss.
