chapter two
When they arrived at the hospital, they took Shane into the A&E department to be seen by one of the doctors on duty. While they were waiting for their next call, Kate sat and chatted with Mark. "So, what are you doing here in Dublin when you come from London?" "The pay." "Is that why? I thought you were working on Ireland because you had family over here." "That as well." "Oh. Listen, Shane is going to be alright isn't he?" "Yeah, He'll be fine."
Suddenly a call comes through. "Well, I'd better be going." "Kate," "Yes?" "Thank you. For what you did today." "What did I do?" "You saved Shane's life." "I'd hardly call cleaning a wound saving someone's life." "Yeah, well, thank you. Listen, would you like to go for a drink sometime with Kian Bryan Nicky Shane and myself when he gets out of here? Just to say thank you, that's all."
"Ok, when and where?" "How's about tomorrow night at around 7 outside The Point?" "Yeah, fine. Here's my mobile number, call me if you break a microphone or something and I'll be straight round to save it's life." "Ha, ha. Very funny." "See ya tomorrow night." Kate said. "See ya". And with that Mark went into Shane's cubicle to see how he was, and Kate went out to the ambulance to attend to the call.
