moments

moments - chapter three

The whole weekend seemed to be over in a few seconds, as usual. Kian and Esther filled their days with love - as usual. They both were too glad to be together again that they didn't have any time left to socialise a lot. Esther thought it was one of the best weekends they had spent together so far. After the three months that they had been apart (Kian had to do a big promotion tour in Asia) it was high time they got together again. She had taken him on a tour around the town where she lived, and like genuine tourists they had visited everything there was to be seen. Esther was finally able to give him the big surprise she had bought him. She smiled as she thought back at the moment; She had waited until Sunday evening to tell him.

"I can't believe this weekend is almost over. It seemed never-ending." Kian sighed and gave her a friendly squeeze. "You would think we are used to it by now, but I think I'll never be... I just can't get used to it!" Esther knew exactly what he was talking about. "When will you be back this time?" Kian looked glum. "Not until next month probably. Ronan wants us to start rehearsing for the show we've got coming up." She put her head on his shoulder. "Where??" "Where what? Oh, you mean the rehearsals! In Dublin. I'll be staying over with Bryan probably. Why??" Esther started thinking. "Maybe I can come over and spend a few days with you guys, that is if there is any room left for me!" Kian started laughing. "Please, do so, I'll make some room!"

She got up and pulled him on his feet. "C'mon, I've got something for you... to say goodbye!" She took him along to the garage. "Close your eyes now!" He did as she told him. "crazy girl! What have you planned this time?" She took him a bit further in and switched on the lights. "Open your eyes and see!" He opened his eyes and saw her standing next to a beautiful motorbike - the one he had wanted to buy a while ago.

"You... They told me it was sold and... you, how? WHY??? It must have cost you a fortune!" He wasn't capable of finding the right words. "I knew you wanted it very bad so I just phoned up the owner the next day, and bought it. AND asked him not to tell you!" Kian walked over to the bike and looked at the chrome. "You mean you kept it in your garage for three months?" "Yeah, basically. I wanted to give it before but I couldn't fix it to get it to Ireland. Now you can just take it along with you."

He hugged her as tight as he could. "THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! You're the best thing that ever happened to me!" She started to laugh. "Am I the best thing or is the bike?" He looked at her and saw she was joking. "You are - but the bike is a nice extra!" Esther looked in his beautiful blue eyes and saw the lights of the garage reflected in them. It was as if there were little stars caught in them... "You know, you look all lit up inside now!" "It's because of you that I am." They both laughed and went back inside to get Kian’s bags ready...
