who's who in the game of love

chapter one

Hi our names are Catherine and Samantha McCoy. We're sisters, even if nobody believes us when we say so because we're each other's total opposite. I, Sam, have our mother's blond hair and our father's green eyes while my sister Cat has brown hair and blue eyes. No one seems to figure out where she's got it from. We have a special bound between us from being brought up fifty-fifty in Sweden and in Ireland but we also have those sibling rows that could lift the roof from our house. Every year we go to Ireland, to a little town called Sligo, to visit our dad's parents. We love being there and now we're finally going there again. We haven't been there in a year but now we're going to spend some time there.

We're a bit nervous going back there. Last summer I was dating this boy called Mark that I've known since we were little. We broke up though because we didn't think it was fair to either one of us to be tied to someone in another country like that. But it's cool because we parted like best friends. My sis, Cat, she had something going with a boy called Shane, I think they even kissed, but we had to go home before they could talk about it. Now we have finished school and hopefully we can find jobs in Ireland so we can stay there.

At the Dublin airport

'Can you see Grandpa and Granny?' Cat asked.

'No, but I see some other people we know. Look over there.'

And there were Mark, Shane and Kian waving their hands and screaming at us.

'O no, Shane's there.' Cat said.

'Don't worry so much, he's probably forgotten all about that kiss. Come on, race you to them.' Sam said and started running.

Everybody gave each other big hugs and the guys grabbed our bags and headed for the car.

'I see you borrowed your mother's car, Shane.' Sam said.

'Please don't mention it,' Shane said embarrassed. 'Just get in.'

'Turn here Shane.' Kian said.

'Where are we going?' Cat wondered.

'We're going to pick up some guys who's going to stay with us in Sligo for a while.' Mark said.

'What guys?' Sam asked.

'You know our last band, IOYOU, didn't work out that well so now we've started this new band, Westside. Our manager thought it would be a good idea if we all got to know each other a little better before everything starts up and here we are to pick them up.' Kian said as the Van stopped.

Outside stood two gorgeous guys and a girl. Sam's chin dropped to the floor.

'Stop drawling,' Cat whispered and pushed Sam in the side.

'Mark, who's that gorgeous guy?' Sam asked.

'Which one do you mean?'

'That tall, blonde guy.'

'That would be Bryan, but I don't think he's THAT gorgeous.'

'Stop it Mark.' Sam said and started punching him playfully.

The door opened.

'Hi lads. And girls I see.' Bryan said with a big grim on his face. 'My name is Bryan.' He held out his hand. 'Bryan McFadden.'

'Hi I'm Samantha, but everybody calls me Sam.' Sam said and took his hand. Cat started giggling.

'And this is my idiot sister Catherine.' she said irritated.

'Hi, idiot Catherine.' Bryan said and took her hand.

'It's just Cat.' She answered.

'Bry will you get in already?' a voice from outside said.

'Hi I'm Nicky and this is my girlfriend Georgina.'

'Hi.'

'You can all call me Georgie,' the girl said when she sat down. 'Everybody else does.' She gave Cat an understanding smile.

In the car on our way to Sligo we told each other about what's been going on in our lives since we last saw each other and got to know Bryan, Nicky and Georgina a little better. We amused them with plenty of stories from growing up with their new-found friends as well and they could hardly believe some of the things we did. We also told them of our plans of trying to find a job in Sligo so we could stay in Ireland on a more permanent basis. The guys didn't know how to express their happiness over this.

When we got to Sligo they dropped us of at our grandparent's house.

'See you guys tonight then?' Cat said as she was getting out.

'Yeah, don't forget now.' Kian said with a big smile.

'Grandpa, Granny we're here now' we shouted as we got inside.

'You're here, our little angels.' Granny came against us with open arms. 'It's been too long since you've last been here.'

'But we're here now.' Cat said. 'Where's Grandpa?'

'He's out helping Peter with mending some fences. He'll be home till teatime. Did Shane drive you up here safely? He didn't pull one of his usual stunts, did he?'

'No, Granny. He drove nice and careful all the way.' Sam said reassuring.

'You girls pack up now and I'll go and make something to eat, you must be starving.'
