Pre-requisites All instructor students must possess a current Michigan Cosmetology license and have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Objectives It is the purpose of this institution to train its student teachers for the Cosmetology teaching profession through practical, theoretical and psychological application of applied basic knowledge and skills, as well as to prepare each student teacher to pass the State Board examinations, and to seek gainful employment upon graduation.
Curriculum
Barbering Instructor A Barbering instructor student must complete 2000 hours of instruction. Each student is required to pass the pre-state written and practical examination with a minimum score of 80%. Upon satisfactory completion of all academic requirements, a diploma is awarded for graduation.
Cosmetology Instructor A Cosmetology instructor student must complete 1500 hours of instruction. Each student is required to pass the pre-state written and practical examination with a minimum score of 80%. Upon satisfactory completion of all academic requirements, a diploma is awarded for graduation.
Manicure Instructor A Manicure instructor student must complete 400 hours of instruction. Each student is required to pass the pre-state written and practical examination with a minimum score of 80%. Upon satisfactory completion of all academic requirements, a diploma is awarded for graduation.
