CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  • 1. The members of the West Moreton Country Music Association Inc., it's servants, agents, officials or assignees shall not be responsible for the loss or damage to property or for injury to persons, however caused, during the Festival.
  • 2. Competition is open ALL Country Music Club members only. EXCEPT THOSE WHO DERIVE THEIR SOLE INCOME FROM THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.
  • 3. All material performed must be COUNTRY as defined by the Judging Panel.
  • 4. (a) Contestants onstage attire MUST be appropriate to the material performed
        (b) BACKING MUSICIANS may not wear singlets, shorts or thongs etc. Contestants will be responsible for the dress standards of their backing musicians.
  • 5. ENTRY NUMBERS may be limited at the Organiser' discretion depending upon the number of entries.
  • 6. All contestants must be a bonafide member of a recognised Country Music Club or Association.
  • 7. Drum kit, PA and Amplifiers will be supplied by the promoters and will be the only equipment used (except musical instruments). Disqualification may occur if it is found entrants are altering or tampering with the equipment on stage.
  • 8. Prerecorded material and/or drum machines/or drum machines on keyboards, may not be used except in Section X, "Anything Goes".
  • 8a. Section X - "Anything Goes" - As the name implies - taped music is permitted in this section only.
  • 9. If own backing is used, only contestant/s will be judged.
  • 10. Backing vocals/harmony will not be accepted in Solo Sections.
  • 11. A contestant may only appear once in a section.
  • 12. All contestants must report to the Festival Secretary upon arrival or no later than thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of the relevant Section.
  • 13. (a) JUVENILE 12 Years and under
         (b) JUNIOR 13 - 17 Years at the date of Festival.
         (c) SENIORS 18 Years of age upwards.
         (d) GOLDEN OLDIES 50 Years of age minimum.
         (e) OPEN SECTIONS All ages.

        (f) CLUB SHOWS No restriction on numbers of performers but all must be financial members of their Club. Performance restricted to 30 minutes. Judges will deduct points for going over time. Performance will be assessed on entertainment value and variety of artists. Fifty percent of participants in a Club show must have also appeared in other sections of this Competition.
       (g) OWN COMPOSITION This is intended to be a self performed songwriting competition. Contestants are requested to perform an original unpublished item of their own composition. CONTESTANTS ARE REQUESTED TO SUBMIT THREE COPIES OF LYRICS OF THEIR SONG FOR JUDGES PERUSAL. This must be done when reporting to Festival Secretary prior to the start of this section.
         (h) No Juniors to appear in ANY Senior sections or Vice versa.
         (i) "OPEN" SECTIONS are open to all age groups or combinations of ages where signified.
  • 14. ENTRIES must be on the Official Entry Form (or photo copy of same) and MUST BE accompanied by the relevant fee/s noted on entry form attached. No late entries will be accepted on the day.
  • 15. Nomination fees are nonrefundable for any reason (except as per clauses 5 and 20).
  • 16. Judges decisions shall be final. Any ties shall be determined by the Judging Panel.
  • 17. CONTESTANTS SHALL NOT APPROACH THE JUDGES or SOUND ENGINEER WHILE COMPETITION IS IN PROGRESS.
  • 18. Contestants competing at the Festival will be given free entry through the gate.
  • 19. The Organising Committee may, at their sole discretion reject any entry without assigning a reason. Such entry will be advised by mail and all fees refunded.
  • 20. The Organising Committee may, at their sole discretion, forbid the participation of any entrant/s considered to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs to have breached these RULES, to be deemed guilty of misbehaviour and/or in any way contravened the SPIRIT and INTENT of the FESTIVAL.
  • 21. Any matter upon which these RULES are silent and/or obscure will be determined by the Management Committee of the West Moreton Country Music Association Inc.
  • 22. ARRANGEMENT OF BACKING ON THE DAY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INDIVIDUAL ENTRANT.
  • 23. In each section a minimum of three entries must be received to be eligible for the Qld Champion of Champions.
  • 24. Whilst every effort will be made to adhere to the programme the Festival Committee accept no responsibility for inconvenience caused by programme alterations arising from unforseen circumstances.
  • 25. A Winners Concert will be held to decide the Best Overall.
  • 26. First Place winners from Sections B,C,D,E.F,G,H,I,O,P,R,S,U & W, (marked with * on Entry Form) are eligible to compete in Winners Concert.
  • 27. The song performed by competitors in the Winners Concert must not have been previously performed by that Contestant during the Festival.
  • 28. PRIZE MONEY:-
    Senior Section Awards- $50 - $30 - $20
    Junior Section Awards- $30 - $20 - $15
    Juvenile Section Awards- $20 - $15 - $10
    OVERALL AWARD:- $500
