Team
Philosophy
I hope that we can and will approach this season with shared values about soccer, the players' experience and our roles as coach and parents.
At a Minimum these include:
- The game is for our boys. They learn, grow and develop as athletes, leaders and team players. They develop sound soccer skills.
- We support sportsmanship. We support the players and do whatever we can to help the team. Our actions and choices are based on how they help the team.
- As parents we are a team. Our adult-team serves and supports all of the players as a team.
- Winning is very important; so are the game, confidence, positive relationships, doing our best and feeling good about it, and having fun.
- We pay attention to strengths and accomplishments. We are positive, we cheer, support and celebrate. We encourage and reinforce success.
- We are leaders and role models.
Candor and open communication between the coach and parents is important; it should be timed appropriately - not during the game and not in front of players. Comments about the referee are not appropriate, especially during play. We should be positive and guided by these values in all that we do and say in support of our team.
