The West Springfield High School Hockey Team is now the only undefeated team (5-0) in the Eastern division of the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League (NVSHL) after defeating Osbourn Park (now 5-1) 3-2 on Thursday night.  Senior Mike Strickland had two goals and Bobby Surdam had a goal and an assist to lead the Spartans to victory. Recently named NVSHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH Marc Dudzinski did a spectacular job in net for the Spartans. Senior Goaltender Marc Dudzinski will be honored by the Washington Capitals in conjunction with the Washington Capitals youth hockey player of the month program during Monday night's game vs. the Boston Bruins.  During this year, Marc has led the West Springfield High School Hockey team to their undefeated 5-0 league record with a 1.8 Goals Against Average. He also posted a shutout against Hylton High School. In school, he actively participates in Key Club and is a positive role model for his teammates with his positive comments all the time. Marc is looking to play hockey at either Western Michigan or Niagara University next year.
