DONNA RICHWINE
Donna Richwine Sansbury lives in Bentonville, Arkansas, and was on a mission in southeast Asia (2001) before returning to the US in time for the reunion. She is wife to Larry and mother to 2 sons (Lonnie and Troy) and a daughter (Elizabeth). She is a horsewoman, a cancer survivor, a nurse, and a compassionate volunteer--among other things!
In a February, 2006, update, she writes:
We are currently in America and plan on staying until October, so it would appear my visit west (to Washington) will be in August.
We just returned Sunday (Feb. 12) from New Orleans, and believe me when I say that the fine people there still are in need of your continued prayers and support. It is way worse than you can wrap your mind around, but better than last October when we first went there to work in disaster relief.
Larry and I have done work in many places around the globe ,but when it is in our own land, our own peoples and the relief and aid comes later than if it was a disaster somewhere on the other side of the world. Hey, something is really wrong somewhere--what's up with that? (Memories)...Every time I pick up my trumpet (usually just to irritate others) I think of you (Diane) and your sax and Verna with her flute and Jo Marie with her clarinet and All District Band and Mark Hayden enjoying smacking me in the back of the head with his trombone.
All of those who have crossed over into the next life I remember fondly. Seems like so many, but they all were really good people while here on earth and now have higher and better jobs to do.
I too know the pain. My sister Cathe lost her one and only child June 2004 at age 20. Then last January (05) Cathe and I moved mom from her home in Virginia to my home town in Arkansas. That little trip is usually 15 hours by car, but traveling with mom and her stage 4 Alzheimer's took 3 days and 6 hrs.....hey but who's counting!
My kids are still busy. Lonnie owns a local TV and radio station in Wenatchee. Troy works for him and plays in a band called Illustrated Man. Elizabeth lives in NYC and designs jewelry for 2 design houses. We are very happy that we now have non-stop service to NYC and we can see her in just under 3 hours. She has a delightful little girl named Madison and we take every chance possible to see them.
