JODY KNEIFEL WELLER
Dick and I are leaving for Geneva, Switzerland on the 14th, so we are unable to come to the reunion.
Not much has changed either our work duties or family. Dick is still working for Battelle PNL Labs in Richland. He is lent out to DOE and one of his duties is being the biological expert on the Biological and Chemical Warfare Treaty which is being negotiated at the UN site in Geneva. He does US delegation duties over there 3-4 times a year for up to a month in time. I go along and play! This time we are leaving a week early and taking a train to Rome. Two summers ago I went with our daughter, Christin, and she, Dick and I were able to spend just one day there last summer as an add on to our vacation in Tuscanny country. It'll be hot and humid, but interesting.
I still teach 5th grade at Selah Intermediate in our brand new building. The move to the new building meant a recombination of grade levels-5th, 6th, and 7th as well as new administrators. So far it has been a wonderful experience. Most of the time I really love my job, although it is stressful and requires long hours after work.
Carrie is 30 and is a homemaker living with her family in Moxee. She enjoys staying home, helping with the grannies and great grannies, and doing crafts. Her husband is a foreman for Moen construction. Her son, Kyle, our only grandchild is 6. We love him dearly and enjoy including him on our trips of shorter duration. Being a grandparent is one of the most rewarding parts of my life.
Christin, 28, teaches for HIghline District in Seattle. She has a 1rst-2nd combination. Of all the kids she is the most like me. I tell her it is not
worth it to put in so many hours and so much personal money into the classroom, but she doesn't listen. Wonder why??? Her boyfriend is a police officer in Isaquah. Christin enjoys traveling-especially on free tickets from dad-and hiking.
Mark, 26, lives in West Seattle near Christin, but works for N2H2 in Seattle. He likes to hunt, fish, and travel. Currently he is dating a friend of
Christin's who teaches in her building. She's a cute red head who is also a swimming insturctor.
David, the tag along and our real challenge, boards at Jubilee Fellowship Youth Ranch where he is experiencing the work ethic and getting his credits to graduate in June of next year. He plays the guitar in a Christina rock band, rollerblades on a hockey team, and dreams of his girlfriend
in Western Washington.
Wish I could be with all of you! Have a great time. I email Judi Loofburrow Strycharz frequently so I keep in touch with her. I know she wishes
she could be with you also.
