Welcome to the New Westville Hack Chat. As you can see there is still a number of pages not complete or updated but we will have them up and running as soon as possible. First I would like to thank Nick DiPersio for the graphic designs and banners he created for this web site and the patience he has shown while he was teaching me html coding. For those of you not familiar with the Hack Chat, this is a fun newsletter where your most embarrassing moments and photo's could show up. On the main page you will see the link to email me with things you would like to see in the newsletter, of course it has to go to the Editor for final approval! It was nice to see such a large crowd for the Monday night open house. Here are a few pics ![]() Mack is looking for new shoes. ![]() I hope I look interested in what they are saying! ![]() Mary....deciding what to drink. Curling Etiquette, the Unwritten Rules. Since this is the start of the curling season, what better time than to talk about curling etiquette. This will help new curlers and refresh seasoned curlers. 2. Skip – if your whole team cannot make it let the other team know. It is not the greatest season to drive to the club and find you have no game. 3. Be on time! If you know you'll be late for a game, inform your team in advance. 4. Start with a handshake. At the beginning of a game, wish your opponents good curling. Also, finish with a handshake. 5. Use only clean shoes to walk on the ice! 6. Compliment a good shot. Don't remark on a poor shot. 7. Keep the game moving. Be ready to deliver your stone or to sweep. 8. Thirds are the ONLY players allowed in the house while the score for the end is being decided. They are also the person who marks the score. 9. This is one rule that broken constantly. When your opponent is in the hack you are suppose to stand on the other side of the hog line until they have delivered their stone. It gets very distracting to have extra people standing beside you when you are trying to make your shot. 10. In non tournament play it is common courtesy to take out the other teams stone. |
Welcome the new Bartender we have for Friday night – Fred Chislett. No need to introduce yourself….Aaron has filled him in. Speaking of Tighty-whitey Aaron, I am not sure if it was a good idea to let him out from behind the bar. Monday night he tried to take out the steps at Ice 4 with a stone and Friday night he took out all the brooms. Must be pent up frustration from all the bar wenches. And girls Aaron wears snap up pants to curl, hope he does not catch them on some ones hands and they rip open We also have a new Roy in town, you can HEAR that his team is getting into the sport. Gary Perrin has a well rounded team….Gary, Larry, Mary and Curly(Terry Manning?). Moe is the spare. I am afraid we have some bad news…..We have a SPILLY-TALKER in the crowd, right Rosy! As quoted by Finley “It is bad enough to have a spilly-talker but worse to have one that spills other peoples drinks.” So do take some caution and keep your drinks at arms lengths away from SPILLY-TALKER, right Rosy! More Pics.....Our future members. ![]() ![]()
