Pre-Game Background

 

Magua was a member of the Hawk clan of the Ramali Gozyda nation. He left his clan after a quarrel with the clan leader. The usual result of such a dispute is that the loser becomes the evening meal, thus Magua judged his chances of winning the fight and departed his village never to return.

 

Magua has since been wandering aimlessly looking for a new home. He learned early in his travels that his habit of eating the dead is viewed with horror by the more "civilized" people and he has taken to hiding this unsavory habit by drying the flesh of his victims and passing it off as "beef jerky". Magua will occasionally share this food with other unwitting travellers, which causes him some quiet amusement.

 

That is not to say that Magua prefers to eat his own kind. He does in fact prefer a nice haunch of mutton or venison, but on the odd occasion where he has been short of food his cultural tendencies have enabled him to survive where others have succumbed to (been weakened by) starvation.

 

Magua is a classic product of his culture. He will show no mercy and looks upon any weaker persons with contempt. He considers all people to be a potential enemy and is slow to trust others. He has had occasion to observe the more civilized attitudes to vanquished foes and is still unable to fathom the concept of Chivalry.

 

Given that he considers himself to be alone in the world Magua will not hesitate to react with violence to any deemed threat to his person.

 

Since leaving his homeland Magua has survived by stealing and the occasional farm raid. He spent several months with various roving bandit groups but found that he didn't enjoy taking orders from people he considers to be weaklings. Magua recently spent a short stint as a scout for a merchant caravan which brought him to Kaldor and he has become accustomed to the stares and whispered comments that his barbaric appearance elicits from strangers.
