So You Want to Be A DJ... |
That's cool. You've automatically shown that you are a better person than most people just for the intrest. Good for you.
For starters, you'll need a copy of the recently updated handbook. Within these sacred pages lies the meaning of life itself! Or something. The point of the handbook is to give everyone an idea of what they can expect from WFCS and lay out the ground rules in 24 pages or less. Either which way, you need a handbook and it can be downloaded here:
The WFCS Handbook (Don't worry about printing it out - you'll be getting a hard copy when you join the station. This is just for those that are interested and those that lost the handbook.)
Next, you'll need to fill out a DJ information sheet. That can be downloaded here:
After you fill it out, the sheet needs to be delivered in person to our office located at CCSU in the student center near the bookstore. You will have to talk to our training director. He/she can fill you in on the specifics, but what will generally happen is you will be assigned to a active DJ. That DJ will teach you what you need to know about DJ things. This can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks. After that will be two tests, an on air test and a written test. As long as your DJ taught you what you need to know, it should all be easy breezy.
