The Marine Unit is responsible for four major areas in the City of Wilmington and the try-state area
RESCUE, FIREFIGHTING, HARBOR
SECURITY and ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

 

The Public Safety Marine Facility is a joint operation with the City of Wilmington Fire and Police Departments along with other Marine Departments from the Volunteer Fire Service the Delaware Department of Fish and Wildlife, US Coast Guard, Corps of Engineers and Delaware Bay Authority all who occasionally docks thought out the year.

All the numbers of the vessels correspond with the Fire Station numbers. We are a carried department that operate six engine companies two ladder companies a heavy duty rescue squad along with basic life support ambulances and a fire marshal investigation unit.
