Guide to improving your marks

for GCSE Practicals

General info.

There are 4 skills that need to be covered for GCSE:

• Skill P - planning
• Skill O - obtaining observations
• Skill A - analysing results
• Skill E - evaluating the practical

Use our guide to get the best mark you can.

Double Science.

• You need a mark for each skill.
• You need at least one complete investigation, covering all 4 skills
• One of your skill marks should come from each of the following areas: biology; chemistry; physics
• You will get a mark out of 3 for spelling, punctuation and grammar

Single Science.

• You need a mark for each skill.
• You need at least one complete investigation, covering all 4 skills
• One of your skill marks should come from at least two of the following areas: biology; chemistry; physics

• You will get a mark out of 3 for spelling, punctuation and grammar
