New Zealand - My Thoughts
Trip to: New Zealand, Northern Part
When: 2006
At the start, I was happily announcing I was 100% sure that this trip would go perfectly. I mean, I could just
feel it in my bones that it was going to be a great trip, but I was soo wrong.
Not that New Zealand isn't beautiful, interesting, and cold. It is. But it was pretty cold, and since I was over-confident that I would be able to take it and I didn't zip up my coat,
I fell sick. How sad, isn't it? For the rest of the trip, I had a really bad cough and a constant runny nose, causing me to blow my nose for like, every minute.
My mother, too, also caught a chill, but it wasn't as bad as mine. We ended up going to the doctor and being prescribed some effective medicine that would set us on the road to recovery. However, as both of us had running noses, we had to use a lot of tissue paper. As a result, we ran out of tissue and soon we resorted to taking
Hugenex tissues from the toilet and every available things to blow the nose on. T___T
I wasn't allowed to get out of the car at the mountain ranges, because it would be too cold for me. So I stayed inside the car and watched as my mum and dad went outside to take photos and enjoy the breath of fresh air. Yes, my MUM went out, even though she was sick. How weird right? But I guess she wasn't as sick as I was, so she could go out. Anyway, someone has to, right?
The trip was lovely, but yeah, it could have been better. If only I hadn't been too "conceited", I wouldn't have fallen sick. So that's taught me a valuable lesson:
Always play safe.
