About Buddy Wharton #7B

Buddy grew up with racing in his blood. His parents, Bill and Kay have been involved in racing for over thirty years owning a Small Block modified and many Late Models. Buddy grew up around the shop that his dad owned and housed the racecars that gave rides to quite a few drivers. In 1989, Buddy at 19 decided to jump into one of his father's racecar. Buddy drove his dad's racecar for about a year and a half before family needs made him take off a few years. During the time off from racing, Buddy went to the shop to help out. In 1997, Buddy jumped into the crew as fulltime member of Wharton Motorsports. In 1998, Buddy jumped back into a racecar owned by his father. Buddy's car was to be available for teammate John Durling #7 if it needed to be. The first year back into racing was a tough one, but with each race new things were learned and more experience was gained. In 1999, Buddy had two top ten finishes and one top 5 finishes. Wharton ended the 1999 season in 16th place in the point standings. In 2000, Buddy finished three races in the top ten and finished out the season in 16th in points. As Wharton faces the 2001 Season, Wharton will be driving a new car. Buddy and his father, Bill, built the chassis and body of the new #7B. Good luck in the 2001 Season, Buddy #7B.
