The Carving
Shop
Updated November 18, 2002
Kevin has been hunting since he was 12 years old and carving and gunning over his own rig since 1994. He hunts specifically in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with an real addiction to the coastal zones!! Kevin's brother-in-law and long time hunting partner, Art Pavoni, also carves and guns over his own rig. Kevin carves his decoys in his own style, but he has been watching and learning known carvers for years, such as Bob Biddle. Kevin, like the famous Ward Bros., is a barber and many of his decoy heads were carved while sitting in his barber chair waiting for his next customer to come in for a haircut.
Kevin carves his decoys from several types of material pine, cedar, cork, etc. Most of his decoys are hollow, but he does carve solid dekes as well. Kevin's decoys are not mass produced, they are each hand carved and painted by him in his shop. Kevin utilizes several head positions to give each bird its own personality and to give each rig a different look. If you just want one deke for the shelf or if you want a dozen to gun over, he'll make your rig or bird to your specifications!
Please feel free to email Kevin with any questions, decoys that are available, pricing, etc, you will get his personal service. Below are several selected pictures of decoys and please check out his photo page, more will be coming in time. Kevin supports Delta Waterfowl and Ducks Unlimited, please join and help if you are not already members.
Below are some images of Kevin's carving shop, some
