Oblivion
by Galan Mayas
Oh, how melancholy one
gets. The world should end, but it goes on in spite. The lines ring: ‘To be, or
not to be’. Shall I drown sorrow and regret with sleep? Perchance never again
to awake…
…And where once was a bright
future, lies only a dark mist and a moonless sky. Weary as never before, but
constantly does evil nip at each heel. Ever longing to kneel and pass away to a
simpler life.
Alone and unnoticed still
displayed for a show.
A glass box without a hole for
airflow
And silently screaming a
claustrophobic mime,
Slower and slower ever moving
through time.
Ready to burst with rupturing
tears
Touching those most dreadful
fears.
The conclusion nearly met,
That place without worry or
fret.
But sleep overcomes me and
forward I fall,
I’ll wake in oblivion to relive
it all.
