My first snow in London. Despite my fervent hope that the entire city would literally "grind to a halt", it only really ground to a snail's pace.

Being one who relies on the Tube to take me into work every morning, I was fifteen minutes late - imagine my horror at that situation! No need to worry, however, as the entire office was practically deserted until 10 am. Some people literally couldn't get into the city and had to "work from home".

From those who did make it in, I heard heart-warming stories about time in the yard this morning with their kids; little British snowmen and snow angels. But, you know, I got to thinking that it wasn't really poor Underground response that resulted in people being late, but, rather, people fucking off and enjoying the snow.

Which I completely endorse.

This may be my favourite day in London so far. On top of my backyard kinda looking like home, I'm the most popular girl in school - people can't wait to come hear my two cents on the London snowfall (which, by the way, is two centimetres tops). People have also brought in provisions (mostly cakes and cookies), to get us through the cold, hard times, so it's almost like a second Christmas. Which really makes up for things, cause it was like 12 degrees on The Big Day (and thus a very anti-climatic end to a year of wishing for a White Christmas).

If I had a digital camera (hint, hint), I'd obnoxiously take many pictures of the Winter Wonderland scene outside and post them here. Unfortunately for you poor suckers back in Canada, you'll just have to close your eyes and imagine what snow looks like. I'm really learning that the true reward of traveling is the opportunity to witness and experience different cultures, customs, and climates. I truly am blessed.
