Shane
Shane was born in Sligo, Ireland. He has lived there all his life. He
is the
youngest of seven. The eldest  is Finbarr, 30. Next is Peter, 29. Then
Yvonne, 28. The it's Liam, 27. After him it's Denise, 23. Them Mairead,
21.
And last but not least the gorgeous Shane, 19. His Mum and Dad, Peter
and
Mae run a cafe in Sligo called the Carlton Cafe.  Shane and his family
lived
above the cafe on castle street when he was growing up.

In his spare time Shane likes to ride horses. His Dad and brother Liam
own a
business where they buy horses and the keep them for about 6 months and
look
after them then they sell them again. Shane won loads of trophy when he
was
little. And he use to ride with them every evening. When he was twelve
he
was picked for the Kerry Gold Dublin Horse show he wasn't allowed to
ride in
the end though because he was to small and it would have been to
dangerous.
Shane loved horses so much that at one point he was going to do what
Liam
does and work with them full time when he left school. But lucky for us
he
decided against that and went to college instead.

Another thing Shane was good at was Rugby. He use to play for the
Connaught
team. When he was 18 he started taking it very seriously and had trials
for
the Irish team. He got into the third stage but decided that he
preferred
singing instead so he had to give up rugby as the thought of him being
injured and not being able to sing scared the hell out of him. It was
from
then on that Shane started becoming totally committed to performing and
wanted more than anything to hear his songs on the radio.

Shane's whole world changed when Micheal Jackson brought out the BAD
album
when he was about nine. He took over his life and Shane spent hours
watching
the videos and listening to his songs. He use to daydream about being
him
and wishing that he could be on stage performing with all those
screaming
fans.

When Shane was 12. He got his first taste of being on stage.  He was a
production of Grease at the Hawkswell Theatre in Sligo. All the parts
were
for like adults and stuff. So he wasn't going to try out but his
brother
Finbarr told him that he had a good voice and that he should give it a
go.
Because there wasn't a role for someone his age they created a special
part
for him and this other girl and they sang a duet together of We go
Together.
The reaction he got was huge and from that day on Shane realised he
wanted
to be a performer.

When he was 14 he went to Summerhill college which was an all boys
school.
Kian and Mark also went there. Although they weren't friends at the
time.
Every year they use to do musicals. The first one he did was Annie get
your
Gun where he played a girl and had to dress up in a skirt and bonnet
(ahhhhh
how cute). He also played the artful dodger in Oliver. When he was 15
he did
another production of Grease where he played Kenickie. A couple of
years
after that he did it again but this time he played Danny who else?.  It
was
through these show which Shane got to know Kian who was a year younger
than
him. They never really hung out togther though. They just did the shows
and
go off with there own mates. Shane also got to know Mark through the
musicals too.

Boyzone were a big insperation to Shane. That was what made him want to
be a
pop star more than anything. He decided to start a band called SC4.
After
there school, Summerhill College. It was him and his friends Micheal
Garrett
who were in it. They asked Kian to join but he just laughed because he
was
into heavy rock music. So Shane and Micheal got two other guys
interested
but they didn't show up and that was the end of that. It  never lead to
anything at that stage because shane thought that there wouldn't be a
chance
of a normal lad from Sligo becoming a famous pop star
