FOREST AND AGROFORESTRY PROMOTERS IN BRIEF.

Forest and Agro-forestry Promoters (FAP) is a national Community-based Non Governmental Organisation created in May 2001 with the Headquarters in Ndop, Ngoketunjia Division, North West Province of Cameroon.

FAP Promotes the sustainable management of Natural Resources in the Bamenda Highlands and the Kupe and Muaneguba Mountains. This is achieved through the improvement of livelihoods of forest-dependent Communities. FAP also promotes the creation and management of Community forests, Council forests/plantation activities that promote the conservation and management of natural resources.

FAP is currently executing a tree planting and Bee Keeping project in the Bamenda Highlands region sponsored by the Dutch Embassy in Senegal within its 2004 - 2005 Project Support Activities.

FAP is working with different rural communities to develop projects in the areas of enrichment planting, afforestation, reforestation, capacity building on income generating activities especially bee keeping and market gardening as well as the installation of Eco-touristic sites.

Due to the growing interest of women in most of FAP activities the Organization has created a women empowerment component to take care of Women Income Generating activities and Adult Literacy.
