Organisation for Rural Development and Environmental Protection

ORDEP is Organisation for Rural Development and Environmental Protection.

  • Created in 1996 and legalised on 24th April 1998 as a legalised associatiion by the senior Divisional Officer for Mezam.
  • Has applied for status of recognition as NGO in compliance with the laws of the republic of Cameroon.
  • Has 15 members in the Board of Directors.
  • The general Assembly is the supreme organ and meets once evey year to take decisions affecting the working of the organisation.
  • The head office is situated at Ngen junction in Bamenda. Other offices are found in Bafut and Akofunguba.
  • Areas of interest include environmental protection, establishment of nurseries, water catchments protection, environmental education and community forestry.
