People For Productivity Foundation

PFPF is a charitable Non-governmental Organisation advocating for change and connecting local people to knowledge, experiences and resources to help them build a better life. It is providing a range of services that will go beyond the concept of rural development so as to enhance welfare. That is fighting against hunger and poverty in the southwest province and Cameroon as a whole through activities that are directed towards improvement of life for the rural inhabitants, sustainable agriculture, and management of natural resources. Educating the target population on viable economic projects and self-reliance initiatives.

Our vision is to attain a sustainable life for all, with the mission of realising a sustainable, healthy, and just society through poverty alleviation. The goal is to sensitise and work with the rural communities in their self-help activities by taking into consideration relevant socio-cultural and ecological aspects to guarantee a sustainable development. We promote lasting change for improvement by:

• By strengthening capacity for self-help
• Assisting to improve economic opportunity of the less privileged
• By influencing policy decisions at grassroots.

The following projects are on-going:

• Designing and establishing an on-site demo and seed multiplication farm: Seed multiplication: plants seeds and animal material multiplication and distribution, adaptive research and agricultural extension activities (training and support services)
• Community poverty alleviation and self-reliant development: Need assessment, specific training and elaboration of micro-projects and implementation for community-based organisations;
• Participatory conservation and management Soil conservation and agroforestry, protection of water catchments, community forest management and eco-tourism, forestation and reforestation
