Jack White produced their album, recorded a lot of there early stuff, and signed them to his label imprint, Third Man Records.
Where are they from?
Grand Rapids, Michigan
If they are from Grand Rapids, why don't they play shows there?
Yes........I mean they don't play there because it is boring, there are nothing happening there that is "fun".
What is a Trash Bag Helmet?
YOU! Just Kidding (or an I?)..... They are just some incredibly cool words (INCREDEBLY COOL).
Did Jack White chip David's tooth?
Yes, in April 2002, Jack "playfully" hit David in the mouth and chipped his tooth with a ring.
Who is that guy on their shirts?
Terry Richardson.
Who is Terry Richardson?
The Heat had him direct the "Purple" video. He is a director and photographer. He has done multiple photo shoots with Whirlwind Heat, you can view some on Whirlwind Heat's offical site (they are marked with "Photo by Terry Richardson".
Have they done anything outside of the band?
Yes.
What have they done outside of the band?
Oh yes, I almost forgot....
Actually, you did.
David Swanson has been a guitar tech for Jack White before. I'm not sure when he has been one. In the White Stripes Union Square SVCD, David can been seen breifly talking to Jack and then taking Jack's Airline to tune it. Another outside of Whirlwind Heat appearence is with Brendan Benson. David spoke and Steve played bass on a new untitled Brendan Benson song just recently and Brad was there.....but did not play on the song.
How many copies of Do Rabbit's Wonder have they sold?
In the US the heat have sold "not many if any" records according to David. In the UK The Heat have shipped/sold about 1000 to 1500 copies of "Do Rabbits Wonder".
Matt from XL reports:
"Well, all I have to hand are the UK sales figures, we did between 1,000 and 1,500 there across both the LP and CD release.
I'm not sure about any other territories, and I wouldn't be able to find out about the US, but they've not sold crazy big numbers anywhere.
Their fanbase is totally hardcore though, and I'm convinced the fanbase will grow on the next record.
There y'go.
Matt."
Is it true about the Purple single?
Yes....almost.
Do you have a picture of them that I could see?
Yes. I actually do.
From left to right it is Steve Damastra (Bass), David Swanson (Vocals and Moog), and Brad Holland (Drums). At the end you see Jack White.
Go to there offical site here: http://www.whirlwindheat.com to view a lot more pictures of them.
What does Jason Ebenspeaker look like?
He looka like a man.
It's David on the left and Jason on the right (with a larger moog in the middle).
Why do none of their songs make any sence?
David said that some songs like Tan, can used as symbolism (they mean whatever they want to you).
Do these dudes have a coloring book?
Yes....yes they do.
