crap, but I'll drink it if there is nowt else

There are dozens of books written on the rating of various whiskies but who gives a monkey for a numeric rating, or technical descriptive twaddle whether it has a long nose,  short nose, long finish, short finish, medium or a full body. Whether it has a faintly musky orange-honey perfume, or whether it has palate which is sherryish dry, alive with flavors: honey, ginger, bitter herbs, sappy, leafy notes. What the hell is all that about?

No we do it a little differently.

AGMs

The Annual General Meeting is the highlight of the year. The Committee are nervous about re election. and there is an air of anticipation with regards to who will win the whisky of the year competition. For this competition the rules are simple, each Committee member submits under wraps a bottle of malt and they proceed in turn to unveil their liquid asset and try to convince the other committee members why it should be voted whisky of the year. They score the whisky against the five standard ratings of  "sound of cork", "sound of pour", "nose", "palate", and "bottle shape". Each year the rivalry is becoming more intense. As you can see from the clip below it means a lot to win this prestigious event.
