Democracy is Alive and Well ![]() picture courtesy: http://www.new.facebook.com/pages/Daniel-ONeail/23536671408 It's federal election time again and every pollster can try to tell you what you think. Polls are just statistical samples usually of around a mere 1000 people who may or may not be telling a telephone surveyor a true statement of who they'll be voting for. Don't give in to the so-called strategic voting based around these flawed projections. At the end of the campaign life will go on no matter who wins, but you will have to be comfortable with the representative elected in your riding. Don't be discouraged, by all means vote! Democracy only works when all citizens pay attention and participate in the process. This post by Barry Kay is an example of the dangers of strategic voting: http://www.wlu.ca/lispop/fedblog/?p=138 There's still three weeks of campaigning and a leaders debate to happen yet and he's already advocating stategic voting, obviously because of his personal bias in favour of the Liberal party. Thanks to Daniel O’Neail, the Green party candidate in London Fanshaw, for his support and for his participation in the process. Good luck to you. 2008-09-24 18:29:32 GMT
