Background:
(Bare with me readers, ok don't get thrown just keep reading.) Lucky Spencer died in the fire in April of 1999.
Faisan never came to Port Charles, so there were no dealings with Luke and the diamonds. Helena was responsible for the death of Lucky, she had Ari break into Lucky's room and made him unconscious with chloroform before setting the fire.
Everything else unfolded as on the show with Liz arriving at the scene and Luke and Laura identifying the body. After the fire and the identification of the body Luke went home with Laura so they could comfort each other despite her outburst at the morgue.
Later Luke and Laura decided that what they had was too precious to walk away from especially now that Lucky is gone.
As for Elizabeth her life continued much like on the show, except that instead of Jason coming to her rescue at Jake's that night it was Taggart. He listened to her talk about Lucky and then suggested to her that she might want to let herself grieve instead of hiding her grief from everyone.
He then DROVE her home in his CAR and saw her safely to her door. Elizabeth connected with her grandmother and was able to express her feelings of missing Lucky to her. Nicholas has a huge crush on Elizabeth despite her rebuff at her birthday party.
Background of the couples in Port Charles Now:
Bobby and Jerry are married (Jerry never laundered money and Roy never came back.) Mac and Felicia are happily married, and Felicia and Luke are friends just like Lucy and Alexis.
Lois and Brookylnn returned to Port Charles and Ned cheated on Alexis with Lois, thus bringing and end to the mix marriages.
Alexis found a clause in Uncle Herbert's will that gave Chloe her company free and clear. However Jax refused to give Alexis a divorce using his father's poor heart as an excuse. The two are still married and Alexis has fallen in love with Jax who is also in love with her, but neither knows the others feelings.
Everyone in town thought Ned cheated on Chloe so no one except the four and Lois really knows that the marriages were a fraud.
Ned eventually married Lois after Chloe returned to Milan. The two bought a house on river road and together are raising their daughter and running L&B together.
(Picture old AJ) Carly fell for AJ after continued rejection from Jason. Once Jason realized tat Carly was no longer pinning away for him he tried unsuccessfully to get her back. Feeling BETRAYED he left town and no one has heard from him since.
Robin returned to Port Charles six months following the fire and with Jason out of town renewed her friendship with Sonny, the two are becoming romantic.
Juan never came to Port Charles, but Sly returned to town for the funeral and decided to stay with Luke and Laura instead of going back to Jenny and Paul. He and Emily resumed their friendship and eventually fell in love today they are happily dating.
The Qs including Reggie and Leticia continues as usual and Carly fits right in now that she's blissfully happy with AJ with Michael in toe.
Shortly after the fire when Katherine tried to trap Nicholas into marriage Stephan convinced Katherine to marry him instead promising to devote his life to making her happy. She told Nicholas she was lying after Stephan made her his wife. The two are surprisingly happy, despite the circumstances under which they became joined.
(I have SORAS Maxie Jones) Maxie works at Kelly's and has a huge crush on Nicholas, but he continues to be obsessed with Liz. And so we begin.
