Memories Revisited - Chapter 19

~~ Wedding Day ~~

Liz stood in front of the mirror as she looked at herself dressed in her wedding gown. Her white gown fit her body like a glove. It had a form-fitting bodice with off the shoulder sleeves. At her waist, her full-length skirt flared out and was covered in sequence. Liz had her hair up with some lose curls hanging down and her head piece was like a headband with her veil hanging down to her waist. Liz carried a bouquet of white roses with baby's breath all around the roses. On her neck, Liz wore the necklace Lucky had given her. As Liz was staring at herself her wedding party along with Luke and Laura came into the room.

"You are a vision darlin'." Luke said as he looked at his future daughter in law. "My son is one lucky man."

"No I'm the one who's lucky."

Liz had asked Luke to walk her down the aisle and he was more than willing. "Well I'll let you ladies do your thing."

They all laughed as Luke left the small room. Liz looked at her bridal party, which consisted of Emily, her maid of honor, Lulu, well Leslie, a bridesmaid, and Gabrielle and Lauren, her two flower girls. The girls were dressed in pale yellow full-length gowns with yellow flowers in their hair. Gabrielle and Lauren had flower crowns on their heads with strands of ribbon hanging down from the back. They were all beautiful. Liz tried to control herself from crying as she spoke. "Thank you all for being here with me. I am so honored to have you all in my life."

"Oh now Liz don't cry, you'll ruin your make up." Emily said as she handed Liz a tissue. Emily and Liz had rekindled their friendship as soon as Liz came back to Port Charles. It was like they have been friends all this time; they just picked up where they left off close as ever.

Lulu who now like to be called Leslie was now 20 years old walked over to Liz and hugged her. "Thank you for loving my big brother." Liz held on to Leslie, she always loved her and could not believe the last time she saw her she was only 6 years old. Now she was a young woman in college. "I am so glad you're back in our lives Lizzie, I missed you."

"I missed you too Lu…Leslie."

Leslie laughed at Liz's slip with her name. "It's okay, you can still call me Lulu, my dad and brothers have never stopped calling me that."

Liz laughed at her and then bent down to her daughter and Lucky's daughter. "You girls look very beautiful."

"So do you Mamma." Gabrielle said as she smiled at her mother.

"Lizzie, are you my new mommy?" Asked Lauren.

"Oh Lauren, you still have your mommy and she loves you very much. I would never try and take her place in your heart, but I'm hoping you have room in your heart for me because I love you and your daddy very much."

"I love you too Lizzie."

Liz smiled and hugged the little girl.

"Okay well now it's time for the something old, new, borrowed, and blue." Said Emily.

Leslie walked back over to Liz. "I got you something blue.

Leslie handed Liz a box and Liz opened it and stated laughing. It was a blue lace garter. "Thank you so much Leslie."

Liz sat down in the chair and placed the garter on her upper thigh. I'm sure Lucky is going to love this."

Emily then walked over to Liz. "Okay my turn. I got you something new and borrowed. First here is the new."

Liz opened a wrapped box and inside was a white handkerchief that was monogrammed in the corner with E.S.I. "Oh Emily, it's beautiful. Thank you."

"You're welcome." The two girls hugged and almost starting crying. "No crying remember. Okay here is something borrowed."

Emily handed Liz a penny. "I had this in my shoe when I got married and Nikolas and I have been happy so I want to spread the good luck with you, but I'm sure having a husband named Lucky will be all the luck you need."

"Em you are so sweet, thank you so much."

There was a moment of silence until Laura spoke up. "If it's okay, I'd like a moment alone with Liz?"

Everyone left the room to give Liz and Laura some space and waited for Liz out in the hallway.

"Liz I wanted to give you this in private and tell you that I am so happy to have you back in this family where you belong."

"Oh Laura, I can't tell you how much that means to me. I want you to know that I love your son very much and I will do my best to make him happy."

"You already have sweetie." Laura reached out to hug Liz. "Well, I guess it's time for my something old." Laura handed Liz a long black velvet box. "My mother wore this on her wedding day and she gave it to me to wear on mine and now I am giving it to you to wear on your wedding day. I hope one day you will pass along to your daughter on her special day."

Liz took the box and opened it, inside was a pearl bracelet. "Oh Laura, it's so stunning, but what about Lulu, don't you want to give this to her on her wedding day?"

"I have other things set aside for Lulu, but this I want you to have."

"Thank you so much."

The two woman hugged again and then the door opened.

"Okay if we come in?" Said Emily.

Liz smiled at her. "Yeah come on in."

All of the girls stood in front of the mirror and they held each other.
