It was just getting dark when Elizabeth decided to go to the cemetery. She had not been there in a while and there were some things she needed to say. Liz could not believe it had been five years since the love of her life was taken from her. They were supposed to be together forever until a fire took that all away. Now five years later Liz is ready to move on with her life. She knew Lucky will always be with her and she would never forget the love they shared. In her heart she would always love Lucky.Liz made it to the small head stone. Every time she saw it, the pain in her heart increased. She kneeled down beside the grave and placed a dozen white roses in front of the head stone. Liz ran her finger lightly over the words on the stone as she began to cry.
Liz: Oh Lucky. I miss you so much. These past five years have been so hard to live with out you, but it's time for me to stop being selfish……and let you go. I have held on to you with all my strength. I never wanted to let you go, I never wanted to say good bye, but I know I have to. I will always love you and I will never ever forget our time together. You were…are the love of my life. If it were not for you, I would not be who I am today. I would still be hiding in a corner flinching at every sound, every touch. I owe you so much and the last thing I can do for you is to let you go. I can let you be with the angels and be at peace.
Lucky had been traveling for a couple days when he finally made it to Port Charles. Everything was the same. He was not sure where to go because he knew everyone thought he was dead and he did not want to scare anyone, especially Elizabeth. He wondered where she was and what her life was live was like. He wanted to be with her more than anything, but he knew he needed a plan. There was one person who could help him. The one person who helped him when he first came to Port Charles all those years ago. He needed his home base, he knew Ruby could give him some guidance.
Lucky made his way to the cemetery. He needed to be close to Ruby so she could tell him how to handle his situation. When Lucky turned the corner he was not expecting what he saw. It was Elizabeth and she was crying. He just starred at her. Lucky could not believe how beautiful she was. He knew her as a girl and now she was a woman. She took his breath away just like she always did. Lucky did not want to scare her and he was not ready for her to see him yet even though he wanted to hold her right then and there. Lucky hid behind a tree, as he listened to Elizabeth still not sure who she was visiting.
Liz: I just miss you so much and I guess I always will. I love you so much Lucky.
Lucky was shocked at the sound of his name. It finally it him that Elizabeth was visiting him at his grave. Tears began to fall from his eyes when he heard her say still loved him.
Liz: I have to tell you something Lucky. A few months after you died someone was there for me. Anytime I needed a shoulder to cry on or just a friendly face…..Jason was there. He helped me a lot. He never judged me, and he let me grieve for you. He was the only person I could talk about you with. Lucky, Jason and I…fell in love and we are going to be married.
Lucky gasped when he heard those words escape from Liz's mouth. She was marring Jason, she was in love, and he was too late.
Liz: Jason knows how much I love you and I think that's why I feel in love with him. Because I never had to hide my feelings for you from him. I will always love you Lucky but I need to move on, I need to let you go. You will always be apart of me. You will always be in my heart. There is a place in my heart that belongs to you and only you and it will be forever yours. I love you. Good bye Lucky.
Lucky was in tears. Hearing all of this from Liz made Lucky almost lose his balance. He caught himself but not before he stepped on a branch, which caused it to snap. Liz jumped at the sound.
Liz: Is there someone there?
Lucky did not answer. He tried to say as still as possible but he knew that if he stayed there Liz would see him so he walked away as fast as he could. Liz saw the person run away but she did not get a good look. The thought of someone listening to her just then made her uneasy. Liz quickly put the thought out of her head and walked out of the cemetery. Lucky was off to the side of the entrance and once he knew she was gone he made his way back to where Liz was, to his grave. Lucky just stood in front of the headstone as he read it. It was weird for him to see his own name on a headstone. Lucky kneeled down and picked up the while roses Liz had left. He brought the roses up to his face and smelled them. Smelling the roses brought back so many memories.
Lucky: What is it?
Liz: Mmm roses
Lucky: That's it, you get to keep them
Liz: oh Lucky they're beautiful
Lucky: You put them to shame.Lucky held on to the roses as he continued to cry. Just then Lucky heard someone approach him.
